Much like the 97 Adelaide prelim, my hatred towards Griff leaving disappeared on October 1st, 2016

My favorite memory of that day was Minson tracking him from the opening bounce and as soon as Griff touched the ball Wil was onto him screaming like a banshee, picked him up and dumped him on the Etihad turf and then stood over him with his face right in Griff's. I like to think he was saying "that's what you cop when you leave us in the lurch"
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Then at the end of the year we ditched Will. Good times.

He went from AA ruckman to the "never to be played again" pile in 12 months.

Yeah. Which is why I can't get too steamed about Griffen leaving. We treat players as commodities, I don't think we're right to be upset when they treat clubs like their employers.

            Plus, Tom Boyd etc.

It’s easy to forget how awful it was when he left - the timing of it, the fact he was our captain, that he left us for....them. No one thought he was shot then. He was a gun player, openly declaring he saw a better future in a 3 yr old club.

I also find it hard to think of he, Cameron, and Ward participating in that Lost Dogs Home social media thing. Two life members showed us little respect that day. That is something I won’t easily forgive, yes, even after our premiership.

Yet he was indirectly responsible for BMac’s departure. And at that critical moment in Q3 of the PF, when he came off second best in the brutal clash with Clay Smith...it was just about THE moment we won that match.

Footy karma is so strange. He was a captain that didn’t show loyalty, and never won a flag. But Bob did show loyalty, and didn’t either. Good guys don’t always get rewarded for being that way, but still, I wonder if Ryan G has regrets over how things unfolded.

I realise it was "no Boyd, no flag" but for his gutless effort, Captain Griff Schettino is a long way from forgiveness in my mind.

But I don't forgive him, because I don't feel the need to forgive him. It's just what happens.

He also retired from playing football all together, gone into coaching . So he himself pretty much thought he was done as well in his own mind.

He played two games. Besides, it doesn't make the point any less valid. Clubs cast off players when they're of no further use to them (as they should, that's the name of the game), so I can't ever get upset at any player who makes a decision for themself.

Dr. Andrejs Everitt just signed with Yarraville for next season. Given that a Div 4 Ammos team made their league's finals I'm thinking he might be a bit above the level, but looking forward to getting down and having a watch.
