I understand that but like I said, I thought they needed to get rid of those players simply to get their current list under the cap, not free up 700 or 800k for Lids! If they do end up getting him hopefully it will force out some highly talented youngsters that are being underpaid.

I'm getting right on board the Silvagni as a double agent theory

Should we be making a move for WHE?

This is to allow them to secure Deledio which probably trumps GWS efforts.

So it's a rule, until the AFL decide it's not, and then it's change is only applied selectively so that it unfairly gives an advantage to 1 team? Just ensuring GWS doesn't get further advantaged, by instead conferring an unfair trading an advantage to another privileged club that has already leveraged its future to the hilt through already trading multiple years of picks??
Heaven help Geelong were they to do a Freo next year and just hit the wall...and then have nothing to draft with for another two years!

Yep, in a nutshell. A powerful club gets to bet the farm on Dangerfield & Henderson. Then fail. Then get to bet again on Deledio. The house just keeps handing over the chips to the gamblers despite policy to stop problem gambling. If they want a first rounder to bet, they should trade a good player like other teams have to in identical circumstances. It's a bad precedent.

Sounds like they're going to use it on Tuohy.

But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

Which makes no sense? Surely Tuohy is not worth a first round pick?

No takers for Rockliff so he's staying. He's going to have to eat a lot of humble pie, and work out his shit with Adcock. Maybe this will mature him.

I didn't think so no. I thought late second round myself. If Geelong use another first rounder they are in for years of pain unless they trade out good players to get them back into future drafts. They effectively have no first round picks for the next two years and in my opinion still have not increased the quality of their bottom 8 players.

Tuohy provides run, kicks the ball a long way and is tough but butchers the ball and lacks the spatial awareness of a natural footballer. He also has no flexibility in his playing style and can only defend one way. He's not a Bevo half back that's for sure.

Maybe AFL have allowed them to trade their first for Tuohy and a 2nd?

Bartel has retired giving the Cats a little more cap space to play with.
