im sure we will either keep Jones or we will scrape the barrel and get a guy like a “serong” type just to show the supporters we tried. Then go into 2026 once again with Buss, Lobb and JoD as our best key backs
    But won't look at May.

He's a fair player but apparently is lacking in his team work.

I was talking to the Seddon Spy earlier this week and he said by next week the noise would ramp up regarding Wilkie. It's still not a likely trade but we are having a dip at it.

Very happy the club is having a go at a big fish. Still think this is all games and he ends up staying, even moving off one of marshall or steele gives them more then enough to increase his pay. I'm more worried about Jordan Butts who I think we desperately need. Would love budarick as well as a small defender or forward but i think he might stay with gold coast. We need to get busy to bridge this gap with the best next season.

I just love seeing big clubs imploding.

I don't like seeing Geelong benefit.

If you've made 15/19 prelims or whatever it is you're going to have queue of players wanting in.

The ability to choose a team is the issue.

It's absurd there's any consideration to choosing a team or even a state for contracted players. If you want out, then you want out and you go wherever the best deal for your services can be sourced. If the club wants you out and you're contracted, then you should have some leverage over the negotiation.

I have no doubt the current arrangements are geared towards furnishing the biggest clubs with the best players for the primetime matches. It aligns perfectly with the AFL's commercial optimisation strategies.

Curnow approaching the Cats months ago is pretty much exactly what happened with Smith and I'm sure has been happening with Ugle-Hagan in the background for the limited suitors he might have. These big deals invariably screw clubs like ours, but the AFL doesn't consider raising the level of all clubs as being critical to the ongoing profitability of the game in lieu of there being limited primetime slots, limited stadium capacities and an already established pecking order. It's all about them squeezing the bag of lemons it already has.

The best thing that can happen is for the likes of Carlton and Essendon to start losing players without attracting anyone, which seems to be happening now. Additionally, maybe if the likes of Melbourne, Richmond or West Coast start copping it due to ongoing poor performance over time things might change for the better. North, Saints, Bulldogs and Port sooking if they cop it won't raise a single eyebrow at head office.
                          TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

This is why one club needs to be a sacrificial lamb and deal in bad faith with a player that does this. You want out to Geelong? That's fine, but we'll only deal with West Coast. Take it or leave it.

And who would believe his manager also manages Bazwanka, Dangerfield, Tom Lynch, Jamarra…

Then the union gets involved and they'll sue for constraint of trade or something.

I'm not sure the clubs have any power sadly EW.

Walk them to the psd, but likely they'll get where they want anyway with some ridiculous loophole.
