    I absolutely think they should.

Tom Lynch is worth far more than a first round pick and the idea of a team that has (potentially) won two straight flags getting a free shot at a player of his quality is infuriating.

If they can fit whatever Richmond offers in their cap (and considering the tank of Richmond players taking pay cuts, it won't be ridiculous money) they need to put the pressure back on Richmond to get a deal done.

Especially considering Richmond will come into the PSD last.

And the AFL wont be anti Richmond having to trade for him

How do the Saints snare Hannerbury and Shiel with their picks?

They could use next years selections as well.
They have a considerable level within there salary cap they can use so they will have to be creative with their draft picks

Wouldn't shock me if Sydney are fairly happy to let Hanners go and don't get that much for him (aside from salary cap space). Could see him being a late first/early second round type selection and possibly even less than that.

I think given Sydney's strategy of staying in finals contention they'd probably have to play reasonably hard for him. Irrespective of his less than best form over the last couple of years he's bloody hard to replace and their cupboard is bare.

In my view they'd be better off keeping him and offering up the likes of Parker for two top twenty picks with a swap of later picks back. I only say that because Parker will earn more on the market, and losing either of them - one or the other - will hurt their immediate in season prospects similarly, and buy them some time.
                    TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

The Saints don't have a lot to offer unless they are prepared to let Billings go. If Hannerbury and Shiel are their targets one early pick might not be enough. Perhaps Armitage and Lonie might be in the mix to be traded as well to give them some currency. Weller might also want to join his brother at Gold Coast. They will certainly trade one of their ruckman.

                        Have you seen their drafting?

In the Saints case getting a known commodity might be the better bet in the short term, although Hannerbery was well down this year.

Sydney have been killing it with academy selections, they can play finals every year and still bring in elite junior talent.
Mills & Heeney were top tier, and they get one of the best kids in the draft again this year in Nick Blakey.

To be honest I’m not sure why anyone would pay big for Hannabery, he hasn’t been the same since his knee went in the grand final and he is starting to age and slow down , he will only get worse.
Better off going a draft pick in Saints situation , it’s not like they will be flag contenders shortly.
I don’t think Richardson will see next year out to be honest.
Shiel, every club should be into him , if not they aren’t doing their job, he is a great player and lowers his eyes going into the forward line ( hint hint Sam Power) . I’m not a fan of going big fish but if we are , it’s him.

Saints don't have a 2nd rounder or 3rd rounder. AS it stands they have round 3 and 57

They may want to trade for picks, so Billing may be on the table. If they are desperate, they could offer future picks.

Hannerbery is an absolute champion when fit, but he hasn't been fit this year at all so his advantage (huge tank, desire to contest) just hasn't been there.

If he gets a full pre-season it could work. If he has an interrupted pre-season it will be catastrophically bad. Saints need something to look forward to next year as reading posts from their fans, even 30 year members are giving up on them.
