Honestly BAD I think we are in the same boat as St.Kilda, North and to a lesser extent Melbourne.

Sad reality, we need to solely focus on the draft, development and hope like crazy we do not lose players in the future. It really is coming down to picking the right type of person who is ok with playing for a non sexy club from the outside looking in.

Seems premature but it's clear who runs the show down there.

It's been an interesting season for the Saints.
They've under performed on the field but are aggressively in the market place to look at addressing some of the challenges
Then NWM re signs with them while rumors of Wilkie being unhappy seems to be off the mark but there is talk that Steele might have to go eslewhere.

They've pretty much got TDK over the line, it looks like they have Leek Aleer coming in.
Apparently Marshall might be traded but TDK would be seen as an upgrade. Geelong are interested in Marshall.

They've also got some good younger players coming through like Phillipou, Wilson, Travaglia and Tauru alonmg with slightly lesser lights in Hastie, Gacia, Barrat and Boxshall

You have to wonder if at the end of the trade and draft period they can position themselves for a decent bounce back up the ladder.

What other choice do they have really? If they win this weekend, they will be one of only 5 clubs to have won at least 10 games every season this decade, but they have been stuck in mid-table land that whole time. You've got to be bold to make the jump - if I was a Saints fan, I'd be very happy with their boldness.

They have drafted well the last few years, which they were rubbish at for a long time prior.

Their fans seem to be chips in on shaking things up so they'll embrace the changes.
Dalrymple and Silvagni seem to have a good plan from a list management and recruitment perspective.

I actually think St Kilda have outperformed what their list would have you expect.

They are certainly trying to be relevant but years of poor draft return has held them back.

This seems to have improved with the last couple of drafts.

They have burnt a bit with some of the players they have brought in (Hanneberry, Zak Jones, Brad Hill, Liam Henry etc).

It remains to be seen if NWM is a value signing or just forces them to lose some others. TDK is a big risk based on the reported cost.

I think the talent is there you can also add in Windhager (albeit unhappy), Mitch Owens, Hunter Clark may have found his position at HB, Schoenmaker showed a little bit early on but the one I really like is Max Hall.

Hopefully for them Max King can get fit and actually do something impactful on field.

The big weakness is key back - Caminiti would not be getting a game for us and he is pretty much first choice for them.

Isn't the whole TDK theory predicated on trading Marshall out?

#1. Get TDK in as a free agency - costs zero draft capital.
#2. Trade Marshall - brings IN draft capital.
#3. Use Marshall draft picks to get players to support TDK.

If Marshall stays, they just end up with 2x ruckman who both need to play in the ruck. How's that good?

I think it's pretty bold what they're trying to do...

Not having Max King on the track has been hurting them, and one from left field, IF the Dogs decide to want to trade Jamarra out and if he doesn't want to leave Melbourne, would the Saints be silly to have a crack? A King/Jamarra forward line might give their supporters some hope, they do have some good kids especially Tauru, he's a beauty!

Probably realised they got the wrong Liam from WA 2 years ago and trying to rectify.
