Or Troy Menzel or Zach Merrett.

Ling is a Ch 7 patsy. Useless, vanilla special comments man. Good to see his idiotic insights have now been exposed to the wider footballing public.

        Re: 2014 Rising Star Nominations

It should be named best first year player, not rising star.

Have Bont, Taylor and MacDonald lined up, 18 sides would take Bont or MacD over Taylor. The upside on those 2 into the future is way higher than Lewis .

Let's not get hysterical over this .
Put it this way if you called up Brisbane up and threw up Bonts for Taylor, they couldn't say yes quick enough.

            Brisbane's 4th winner just by coincidence. It's a wonder they've been a rabble for 10 years.
Re: the coin - well there you go. Particularly for a first year player on less than $100K, that'd be a sweet little winner

Leppa's been pushing the case for Lewis Taylor (who is a worthy winner TBF) with the not many have seen Lions games this year barrow....4 previous winners huh? hmmm

This is a joke why don't they get the coaches to vote on this award they watch all the games not these guys who wouldn't even have a clue.Im in total shock Bonti was the STANDOUT young player who won games and influenced games off his own boot while Taylor is just a average young player .When I told some work mates who won it and they are not Dogs fans they thought I was joking they couldn't believe Bonti didn't win.At least we know we have the BEST Player from this crop of players, and maybe the second best with Stringer Go Dogs!

Keep your flavour of the month bullshit award based on zero measurable criteria. We have the best player to come out of that draft by a long way, Taylor may have a rising star, we'll see who finishes with more AA awards in 15 years.

Really...who cares? It would have been nice for Bonts but does it change anything? We know who drafted the stand-out player for the future...that's reward enough.

                      Congratulations Taylor....great effort.

I care because others care. Kids watch these things, they formulate who they barrack for often by a very simplistic agenda. We lost out on kids barracking for our team today. I'm NOT okay with that. I'm not okay with losing support for our club to other clubs, that's what results like this mean, that we lose support. 'Yeah, whatever, Bonts doesn't get a trophy', if only it were that simple. This hurts us.

Just another farce in the long list of farces that is the AFL. Up there with UEFA and FIFA for corruptness.

Who cares who Big Brother and 7 company men think was "the most consistent" over the last 2 weeks or whatever they base their votes on.

Would any club take any of the other nominees over Bont? Or take more than 5 seconds to think about it?

                                Re: 2014 Rising Star Nominations

It was clear the fix was in about a week and a half ago, maybe two weeks. All of a sudden the Taylor talk started and more and more the commentariate jumped on board as they got wind of what was going on.

After all, none of them could look stupid could they? None of them wanted to look as stupid as Cameron Ling seems to be, getting things so wrong compared to the expert panel.

I'm really disappointed for the Bont. He deserved some recognition for the impact he had on a number of games and the consistency of effort across the season from when he came into the side.

The AFL just gets a step closer to WWE type entertainment each time I pay attention to it. It's contrived, it's fixed and it's going so far up its own arse it's actually funny. I love the club, but it operates within a stupid hick backwater environment that is getting more farcical by the day.
                                TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.
