    Re: List Management 2015

There are a few state league players capable of coming in and providing support as key defenders. Ex Cat, Mitch Brown and ex Pie Michael Hartley are just two players who could easily slot into a team like ours.

What about a Veale deal? Hendo for Ayce. Talia to PSD.

Win-win. I think players can nominate for the ND though now...
Talia was gone a long time ago.

        But PSD to Carlton?

Their spine looks good. Foster at full back, Talia CHB, Tutt centre, Everitt CHF and Jones FF.

If only there was an Ayce ruckman to put in the mix?

I'm not sure he's exactly a key defender, but Lachie Plowman reportedly wants to return to Melbourne.
Starved of opportunity and had injury issues, could be a good argument for buying low and giving him a little bit of time. Could certainly play as a tallish rebounder.

I'm a fan of his. I think we should be talking to him.

I've heard we're more into Haynes at GWS. Either would be useful.

He was injured for a fair portion of the season. When fit they select him.

In they way that we set-up our back line I think he could as a key defender.

Anyone think we should at least be asking the question of Aish?

Would seem a pretty nice fit for our side. Not the superstar he was touted pre-draft but his silky qualities would be a welcome addition to our wings and flanks.

We must not think the midfield is an area that needs bolstering (no link to Aish, Treloar, Danger etc)

It sounds like he's a player that doesn't like playing off Broadway, so not sure we'd be in the running. He looks an average player with the expectations of a superstar. I'd leave him to clubs looking for a new saviour like Richmond or Collingwood, because he won't be it.

If we were to spend decent money on a midfielder, I would much prefer a big bodied mid. Collectively, our midfield/flanker group is a bit on the small/lightly framed side for mine.

I actually think we are ok for big bodied mids.

Bont and Macrae are tall and will add muscle. Mitch Wallis at 185 and Koby Stevens at 189 compare pretty well, when you consider Luke Hodge is only 186. Even Libba at 182 has enough size.

It is just that we probably also have enough quantity in sub 180 mids.

I just think with Dahlhaus, Libba and Hunter in the 22 and most pushing up, MacLean, Hrovat, Dale, Daniel, Webb, also on the small/slight side, we would become unbalanced with more slightly built guys.

Our wingers/flankers are tall enough, but also lightly framed (Grant, Macrae, Wood, JJ, Murph).

If we are to spend decent money/draft pick on a mid, for balance sake, to add to our best 18, I'd like a Bont, Mundy, Danger, Kennedy, Fyfe, Cripps, Watson body type.

I did read something about Ellis-Yolmen from the Crows being out of contract and disgruntled after being let out of the side in the second half of the season, but not sure if there is any truth to that. Would certainly meet the big bodied midfielder classification at 189cm and 94kgs.

I think Libba has adequate body size and Bont and Macrae are both key position height. We also have Lin Jong with plenty of size about him.

Webb is taller than Dangerfield and just needs time to fill out. I also feel that Bailey Dale is taller than the listed 182 and I would expect he is still growing. (Looks like he hasn't started to shave yet)

Just don't see a pressing need for another big bodied mid, although I would not be upset if we acquired one.

I see the most pressing need as the athletic ruck that could really make a difference.
