While we would probably consider that, no one wins in that scenario.
I can really see an outcome where the AFL steps in to make sure we are adequately compensated
Let's hope he chooses to stay and is ready to get on with things with us.Western Bulldogs Football Club "Where it's cool to drool"👍 2Comment

My thoughts exactly GVGjr , the AFL have been monitoring the Jamarra situation , and i dont think the AFL would want the scrutiny of the football world if after they virtually were watching and micro managing the situation , they then turned around and turned a blind eye and let Sydney rob us blind , the conspiracy theorist would have a field day saying the AFL conspired with Sydney to get Jamarra to the Swans , just to shore up success and bring people through the gates in Sydney .Comment

I can see a world where the AFL does nothing, I'm not sure what they can do? We feel sorry for the dogs you have to give them extra draft picks it's not fair?
Um bad luck I would say, we gonna need Marra to return in the red white and blue and play some good footy to get anything decent trade wise make no mistake.👍 1Comment

With that in mind potentially having one of the high profile indigenous players sitting out another season won't be palatable for them.
I can see a scenario where they step in to assist a trade if it comes to that.
What could they do?
If it's Sydney as is being touted then the AFL could step in and offer an ambassadors role for Jamarra up in Sydney and that could provide Sydney with a significant salary cap relief.
There could be other incentives as well.
If Jamarra stays then we just continue to work with him.Western Bulldogs Football Club "Where it's cool to drool"👍 1Comment

The AFL is very concerned with the decline of participation of indigenous players in the AFL. It's part of the reason why they stepped in to assist the club with Jamarra.

While I wish Jamarra well as an individual it feels all wrong that we have from all accounts offered considerable support, continued to pay a player who has given us nothing but would have been more than handy this year, and then see him play elsewhere.www.bulldogtragician.com A blog about being a lifelong fan of the Dogs and our quixotic attempt to replicate 1954. This benefits Sydney but you also said you expected we’d be adequately compensated. I’m interested to know how do you think that might work?

Sydney might start off with a 1st round pick offer. If say the AFL offered them $250K a year Ambassadors allowance outside of the cap it could be an incentive for them to offer a bit more perhaps a 1st and 2nd round pick.
The Dogs do a bit better than expected and get 600K+ off the books.
The AFL can sell how they're able to work with team to enhance indigenous players in the competition.
The Swans get the key forward they need and a bit of relief in the cap.
Jamarra sitting out another season is bad for everyone.
Many of our supporters will be filthy with that sort of return but the more reasonable ones won't feel likely we have been ripped off again.Western Bulldogs Football Club "Where it's cool to drool"👍 2Comment

This is just a scenario, I don't expect many people will see it like this but here goes:
