Not sure it is crackpot waffle. Connors group would 100% go down this path. Why haven't they made any statements about JUH and his struggles?
Best case scenerio is we retain JUH and he sees out his career otherwise we trade him for a packet of chips and can of coke - no way we are getting the appropriate trade capital in return.
All he had to do was keep on his current trajectory and he’s signing 8+ years at 1.5, there is zero chance he’s getting anywhere close to that right now unless things seriously turn.
again what’s the play here? He can get to another club more cheaply at the trade table? When has a single player ever cared about that
i agree we’re going to get screwed, and it sucks. Cap space is king though, we have a heap of it with him gone we need to be pulling a Rowell or Butters type this year to make up for the talent we’ve lost. No excuses just get it done👍 1Comment

What do they get out of it? The Marra situation is more like Stringer than Bailey Smith - he's massively hurt his value and no club would be willing to throw big dollars at him considering the risk factor. Smith at least seemed committed to being an athlete - Marra looks like he's 50/50 to even get back on the field. No chance he gets a big contract without coming back and playing good footy at some stage.FFC: Established 1883

The longer this goes on. The million dollar question for me is, how did it get to this? How?
He is 23 years old. This is his fith season.Comment

He re-signed last year on good money - then we think his management are assisting him to not show up for work so that he can walk out to the club of his choice? I don't get that line of thinking at all. He's ruining his future contract value as well as his public reputation. This situation has not only ruined his trade value, but it's also taken a lot of dollars off future contract - why would his management support that?
I think this is far less insidious. A young bloke with a lot of money getting caught up and losing his way.👍 9Comment

Bevo today.
But Beveridge, in the wake of calls that Ugle-Hagan be stood down from the club by former players, says the forward's future lies at league headquarters.
"At the moment, the decision-making in regards to Marra's future and what that entails is significantly in the AFL's hands," Beveridge said on Thursday.
"We're waiting on them to do certain things, and we're continually interacting with them and working through it to work out what's best for Marra."
"My focus is absolutely, totally on the group that's here," Beveridge said.
"As I said to the players, sometimes he's here, sometimes he's not. If he isn't, he isn't, it's not worth talking about.
"If he is and he joins in, we carry on. But because he's not currently available for selection, it's not at the forefront of my mind.
"It's just making sure that the group who are playing are ready to go."

Interesting that Bevo today said it is in the AFLs hands. Bascially wiping his hands of it. He must be completely over him which is totally understandable. His body language and words spoke volumes in today's presser.👍 1Comment

Interesting.
Clearly more at play than what has been disclosed. Has to reach a point where the club seeks a way out of paying good money to a player with zero interest in actually fulfilling his job.
Sad it's reached this point, but clarity for the club would be nice. If we can cut him, save money, and look to throw it at Butters or Rowell then let's just do it and move forward.W00F!👍 1Comment

How does Sam Maclure have a platform? On his rubbish Tradies podcast: "Can you imagine in three years when Bailey Smith is dominating for one club and Jamarra is dominating for another? And neither are dominating for the Dogs?"👍 1Comment

Mtich CLeary is also on the pod. Big cats supporter. Cats have a great culture. Tyson Stengle and his issues and another player with some more significant issues. Yeah cats are flying.👍 1Comment

I don't think it is either, that's why suggestions that his management have concocted this situation are illogical to me.

Remember it was public knowledge Smith was going to Geelong before he did his knee. Is it that long of a bow to draw to suggest his management have an in-principal agreement with another club?More of an In Bruges guy?Comment

One. Nepotism. I'm sure that is how he got a break.
Two. You really don't need that much talent to have a career as a footy journo.Comment

Bevo stating 'its in the AFL hands now' - is the moment we need to all accept that its over and all we will get for Jamarra is cap space.
He's one player on a list of 42. Just have to move on, as the resources at the club are being drained by 1 - which hurts the other 41.
If the AFL can give the green light to move him off our list so we can get someone else, then great. I get the 'he's a young bloke with demons' angle - but he is employed by the footy club - he has a job - and he's not turning up to work. Anywhere else, he'd have been terminated 5 or 6 months ago. We'll be a better club if he's gone.Comment
