In a world where Clubs have massive limitations and players too much power in the trade system, this is a hand that could be played.
I would need to know how the playing group feel. If they do not want him around and the media circus of who wants him and every week a new scenario in the media. I would cut our losses and get what ever for him.

clearly he first want to be at the club andvforwnt care about his team mates

Looking forward - Naughton, Darcy and JUH. It will be the envy of everyone.

Latest Bevo interview doesn't bode well for Jamarra. Sounds like he'll be out the door at seasons end.

It seems that he's refusing or unwilling to meet with the club and the AFL to discuss a path forward.

What a shame it's come to this.

Luke Beveridge opens up on Jamarra Ugle-Hagan’s future at Western Bulldogs

Luke Beveridge has conceded he’s unsure if Jamarra Ugle-Hagan will play another AFL game and revealed when a tipping point might be reached that decides the young star’s future.

AFL: Jon Ralph has reported, there is a chance no team will be interested in Jamarra Ugle-Hagan and the talented forward could become lost to footy.Western Bulldogs’ coach Luke Beveridge says Jamarra Ugle-Hagan’s future at the Dogs will “probably come to a head” if he remains absent from the club.

The senior coach wants to speak with the star spearhead again following his next meeting with league and club and officials in the faint hope he can help reignite Ugle-Hagan’s AFL career.
The 2020 No.1 draft pick is at football’s crossroads amid serious concerns about his off-field lifestyle and some erratic behaviour which dates as far back as 18 months ago.
Ugle-Hagan, 23, has not attended Bulldogs’ training over the past three weeks and will almost certainly be moved on from the club at season’s end if he does not meet expectations on and off the field.
In an exclusive interview with the Saturday Herald Sun, Beveridge said “we are all concerned about him”, but was adamant there “comes a time when you have to step off the preoccupation with him and make sure you centre your observations and influence on the people who are there”.

Luke Beveridge chats to Jamarra Ugle-Hagan. Picture: Michael Klein “We hope he is connecting with the medical experts and from time-to-time our practitioners and that the penny will drop at some point, and we can turn it around,” Beveridge said.
“But if it doesn’t happen over the remainder of the season, then I don’t know. It will probably come to a head.”
The Dogs have thrown their full resources behind Ugle-Hagn to help support his complex personal issues, but frustrations are growing amid an ongoing review of his flexible training arrangement.
Rival clubs also hold serious concerns about making a play for Ugle-Hagan in the trade period over doubts about whether he can commit to top-line AFL standards at a new home.
Beveridge said he was unsure if Ugle-Hagan still wanted to play at the top level.
“I don’t know, that is the serious answer. He will tell you he does, but the actions don’t back the words up,” he said.
“It is going to take a lot of time to build trust again with everyone.
“The thing about compliance and punctuality and being in a program you have to be there.
“You can’t choose which days you don’t come.
“And that has probably been his existence over this year until recently when he has been away from the club.”
Beveridge said he hoped he could speak with the forward again soon after he next met with the AFL and club staff about his situation.
Ugle-Hagan’s future as an AFL player remains unclear. Attempts to organise another meeting with the experts from the AFL and the Dogs have failed in recent weeks.
In the meantime, the 67-gamer, who hasn’t played since last year’s final series, has continued to post social and off-site workout videos on his social media account.
“The plan was to have that meeting (with the AFL) and then sit down and work out what that pathway was or is, and being totally re-engaged and possibly playing again,” Beveridge said.
“But because that either didn’t happen or hasn’t happened, and I have been unable to have that conversation with him.

It appears more likely by the day that Jamarra Ugle-Hagan won’t play for the Bulldogs again and there is a hidden cost that is already hurting the club. Scott Gullan explains.
“I’m hoping it does happen. I’m just not sure when it will be, but it is not occupying my every day (thoughts).
“I have just channelled any frustration or negativity and just channelled it into positive energy for the group at large. I have got no other choice.”
Concerns first emerged about Ugle-Hagan in late 2023 before he booted 43 goals across 22 games the following season in 2024, but no majors in the final two matches including the elimination final against Hawthorn.
After beating GWS Giants on Sunday in Round 24, the goal kicker didn’t reappear back at the club until Thursday, and was almost not selected for the clash against the Hawks.
Ugle-Hagan had four disposals amid significant concerns about his preparation for the cutthroat final.
His ties with his current teammates have since come under considerable strain despite their best efforts to publicly support the 194cm forward from Framlingham, near Warrnambool.

I get the frustration and the constant questioning, but I wonder at this point if "silence is golden".

I remember Bevo being entirely too honest about Stringer just prior to the trade period and I wonder if ultimately that impacted his value- everyone knew we didn't want him back.

This is a different case entirely, but I just don't see what benefit giving sound bites on it does (when there is nothing new to report). You also have to wonder if JUH or the circle he has found himself in reads the edited words and how they interpret them- my money is that his mind is not going to see them positively and I don't think we can rely on those around him seeing our point of view. Does this help him move forward and get us one step closer to what we want, of does it just take him one step further away?

At this point the media has stopped finger pointing at the club too- so we don't even have to go on the defensive. I would like a 'I understand the interest, but there is nothing new to report on this at the moment..." and move on.

Yeah agree with this. Had the same thoughts when reading the article. Don't see the benefit in saying anything at this point.

Just like with Stringer, all that article is doing is informing the general public. The footy circles already know what's going on.

His trade value online might be impacted, but his real life trade value is not being impacted by those words.

Exactly. Everyone within club land knew we wanted rid of Stringer, and everyone within club land would know what's happening with JUH.

In this instance there is a genuine update from the club/ Beveridge. JUH hasn't been attending training recently, and hasn't kept a meeting with the AFL, the AFLPA and the club to map his immediate future. Beveridge hasn't been able to talk with him because that meeting hasn't occurred. It's the most substantive update we've had in a long time.
                    TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

If thats the case and it strongly appears that his not prepared to put in the hard work , the ground work that he knows is required to being an AFL footballer , is it time we put him on the INACTIVE list , and pick someone up in the mid year draft who would give an arm and a leg just for the opportunity to be on an AFL list ,( and i know its a risk because youd be paying Marras salary and another salary on top of his ) , but some good footballers have been picked up in the mid season draft , ( namely Hawthorns Jai Newcombe is one example) , maybe its time to bite the bullet , take a risk and move on from this situation .

A great option, I guess the club will consider Marra's best interests and for his sake not do it if he still is with personal issues.
it is a good option to have.

The only person harming Jamarra's trade value is Jamarra. And the only person jeopardising Jamarra's future medium to long-term viability as a professional AFEL footballer is Jamarra.

I honestly don't understand how everyone now says footy is a business and the players treat it as such with more and more player movements etc. I don't disagree with it at all as you have a limited shelf life in footy. But then why the %^%$ should the club pay full salary for this not commitment. He would be fired from a regular job. Sounds like the club has tried their best. Id be spewing if some deadshit other club is behind the scenes playing games and saying do this and that and we will take you. Best way to stop that is an instant 2 year stand down out of the AFL system.

There’s a reason Smith was such a weird unit last year. Are we shocked Marra is playing similar (albeit more extreme) games?

Get ready for the trade period declaration that ‘a change of environment’ is just what he needs to reinvigorate his love for the game.
