Always Right Match Committee R3 vs Carlton 2025

Welcome to the Always Right Match Committee Thread. The Match Committee threads has been named after long time WOOF member Always Right who tragically passed away in March 2018.

If you were on the Western Bulldogs match committee, what changes would you make after our Round Two match against Collingwood for our Round Three match against Carlton at Marvel on Friday night

For those new to these threads, please give a brief explanation for your changes ... this would add a lot of value to the discussion.

Busslinger to finally debut for Funky Lobster who looks likely to get a week.

He will be happy with one week but I think more on the 3 to 4

Yeah Lobb will go, unlucky for him but good on him for popping one on Cox. Worth it.

              Really?

We look like going into a big game against a team with probably the best key forward duo potentially without our 2 best key defenders.

              That isn’t a good prospect.

It's in jest. Of course we need him and I don't want to lose him for next week.

Lobb no doubt had eyes and fist for the ball, no intent to hit Coxhead.
Sanders better have a good week on the track if someone plays well in vfl.

Scrimshaw got three for a careless, high contact, severe impact clothesline. Unfortunately I can't see Lobb doing any better than that - best hope is that Cox is fine and you get it down to high impact and two games. His intent was 100% to spoil but we have seen time and time again that outcome matters over intent.

Liam Jones was 1-3 weeks away - do we bring him back at the 1 week mark? Or JOD two weeks after fractured jaw? Or time for the Buss to be slung?

I think we will need to content ourselves with Buku and JOD vs Charlie and Harry - and hope that Curnow is as much of a liability as he was last night.

I saw it reported tonight that Jones got through a big training block and is every chance to be back against the Blues. I'd play him if he's 90% there - we're getting desperate now without Lobb.

I’m not sure who that someone might be… the cupboard is bare.

Naughton to the backline? Doesn’t help our forward line though

I thought JOD was close to playing against Collingwood? He must be ok now.

Weirdly I saw a few glimpses in Dolan's play which is why we keep persisting. One of Darcy's marks was 100% helped by s little block from Dolan. He must be doing the team things if they subbed off Arty for him.

JOD had a fine crack and the plate attached should prevent any further damage. Bevo indicated a main factor in him missing was the discomfort he was suffering due to the removal of a wisdom tooth necessitated by the injury. He should be available. Both Treloar and Liam Jones appear to be good chances of being available next week. The inclusion of these three would stiffen us significantly.

Selection headache if Lobb gets off, and both JOD & Jones are available.
I think we give Jones another week though and JOD comes back.

At least the VFL is back tonight so we get to see if anyone puts their hand up. We have the option of moving Williams back to the wing so can accommodate bringing in a defender or two.
