Always Right Match Committee R22 vs Melbourne 2025

Welcome to the Always Right Match Committee Thread. The Match Committee threads has been named after long time WOOF member Always Right who tragically passed away in March 2018.

If you were on the Western Bulldogs match committee, what changes would you make after our Round 21 match against GWS for our Round 22 match against Melbourne at the G on Sunday.

For those new to these threads, please give a brief explanation for your changes ... this would add a lot of value to the discussion.

What didn’t you like about Buss game?
More of an In Bruges guy?

              No Change

Edit: forgot about Harmes, so depending on today could come in for VDM

I simply prefer Jones experience if he is in form.

Davidson or Harmes. Feel for Vanders, on a hiding to nothing but he needs a full game and he’s behind in the queue.
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

Melbourne don't have a big FF

VDM has really fallen off the cliff after a very good first part of the year. Needs some confidence in the 2s.

In - Harmes or A Jones
                      Out - VDM

Weary of bringing in Harmes as I'm not sure he's a true HFF. Suppose it depends if we keep Poulter forward too in terms of mid rotations. I wouldn't mind some more pace, which Arty brings if he's fit.

I believe the MC are sending him a harsh message.

                          Simple to me.

                          IN - Harmes
                          OUT - Vandemeer

However, I would have an unchanged starting 22. Just bring in Harmes as the sub, would be a great bit of experience to come in during the 4th quarter but might also be good management for him coming off this illness and lack of game time.

                              I've expressed it before.
He was subbed out (injured) in 3 away games against interstate team when we were losing (Fremantle, Gold Coast, Brisbane) only to be fit enough to play the next week.
To me the MC is taking a harder stance with him.
