Is it selfish that I would rather see him sit out a year than play footy for another club?

I don't even care about compensation, I just think it's BS this bloke can take $800k+ posting cute Instagram boxing vids, not train or do what he's paid to do, and then waltz into another club and start from scratch as if nothing ever happened.

Jamarra Ugle-Hagan will try to find a new home in the trade period after an exit interview last week that saw the club keeping its options open on a future that has his management desperate for an AFL “redemption story”

The Dogs did not tell Ugle-Hagan he would be traded in that exit meeting because he is in contract, and there is not a definitive suitor, but both parties would be keen for him to find a fresh start.

Ugle-Hagan did not play a game at any level this season but is still contracted to the end of 2026 on a deal upwards of $800,000.

He will not be at the Dogs next year but they will have to progress through the trade period hopeful someone might take him off their hands to relieve them of their contract obligations.

I take the view now that it's more important for the club to do the right thing for the club and supporters more than what's necessarily best for Marra.
That might have been a consideration 12 months ago but given his conduct he's effectively forfeited that being a genuine consideration now.

We definitely should not make it easy for him to just pick another club.

I was seat 1A on the comeback train, but it left the station ages ago. If he were going to make any positive moves on our direction he would have done so ages ago.

              Just get rid of him.

I feel the same. It speaks to the imbalances that exist in the player movement/trade/free agency systems. I think the players have too much power as it stands. Goes against my normal views with work places etc but the balance isn't right and for an industry that's enamoured with the way US sports are run, they're way off the mark on this front.

I definitely feel the same way if the destination club trades on #cOaSTaLLiFeSTyLe

If it was Sydney, I would be happy just to get him off the books and receive whatever in return - they tend to be pretty good faith negotiators during trade period. The redemption arc is total horse shit unless he moves interstate and to a non-AFEL city - his scaly mates are more than capable of driving 45 minutes down the Princes Hwy. Only chance of this happening is Curnow choosing Gold Coast - Sydney have an obvious key forward hole and they would back their culture in to resuscitate JUH's career, for a very low cost output

Yeah agree we just need the $ off the books and that totally rinsed asset out of our club.

I don't even care about what pick it is I just don't want to be the club that keeps paying him.
But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

Like when does this ever work in our favour?

He'll pick Geelong, we'll get shafted and in 2 years when the redemption story is complete all the media suck-holes will be singing Geelong's praises for fleecing us... it's the way the AFL want it, and it's what will happen.

The AFL administrators will point to ratings & attendances to how popular the game is... but the general feeling amongst many die-hards is that the ****tards who steer the ship have NFI and we're all getting sick of it.

That he wasn't around the boys for the VFL cup tells me there is no likelihood of a redemption story with us. I am sure the club has tried everything and come up short.

If another club manage to turn him around they deserve what they get out of it, but it has gotta be a long shot.

Can't see us getting anything much for him. Some picks just don't work out.

I don’t care if it’s pick 100. Glad to see him gone. He will fit right at home with Geel and the likes of Stengle, Bruhn and to a lesser extent, the bleach blonde traitor
I will never see #16 the same!!

Move on. Wasted enough time and money.

I would prefer 100 times guys who want to be at the club and are prepared to play for the jumper.

No. I don't think it is. These guys like everyone else in society has to deal with poor work place performance. if you did this with your day job... your simply not keeping your job, There is 'NO' difference here.

He needs to be de registered if the dogs don't agree to a fair trade. If he choses not to participate in the VFL if he wants to make a comeback. then he doesnt play anywhere. He is contracted for next year at the dogs. Either way hes getting his money. If i were the dogs though id be saying if he doesnt meet the training or games. We shouldnt have to pay. pretty simple.
