Losses in interstate Covid finals really are your Waterloo, aren't they?

All I remember is St Kilda kicking 4 goals directly from boundary throw-in stoppages, which were kinda important in a 3 point result where the winning team scored less than 10 goals.

Yes, me and my family were at the GABBA for that...we were sitting just over the fence where Long belted Macrae.
My son was 8 at the time and his first finals game, he was very upset, but thankfully Bulldogs fans around him, and even a Saints fan behind us (who half of his family were Bulldog's supporters) were all getting around him and made him feel really part of a club.

Until 2021's win against Lions, I have long had only nightmarish finals memories at that ground. I was there when Lynch made the choking gesture to Westy too...

We have walked a very similar path my friend.

Talk that Egan is just about done deal (or maybe already done). Not sure what role though

They changed it to 2pm for some reason but yes hujsh already clarified, thanks.

                    Re: Assistant Coaches

Will be interesting to see what Pratt does with the defence given the list we have. On paper Jones and JOD are key backs with intercepting ability, Coffield and Richards as general/intercepting defenders who can provide some run, Dale and JJ as rebounders and then Dureya as the lockdown and Keath/Gards as 3rd talls if necessary.

The main 6, if injury free, are a pretty good looking unit on paper.

                    JJ - Jones - Coffield
                    Richards - JOD - Dale

One thing about Pratt that in his playing days he was a tough bugger. Hopefully that rubs off.

There's some cause for on-paper optimism but fear that's a glass half full assessment because my eyes spy a unit that's loaded with question marks.

Will Jones hold up again at 33? ... Can Johannisen recover his 2023 form line? ... Can Coffield get/stay on the park and reassert his claim to the level? ... Can Dale rebound from a poor and patchy 2023? ...and for all his promise the inevitable growing pains with O'Donnell while we discover how well he sinks or swims.

Gonna be a wild ride finding out!

You're 100% correct. Still question marks on a few coming into 24 and looking that those behind them is not cause for celebration either

Confident JOD with a big pre season (which will be his first) will be a massive improver. I think he will go to the next level.
