    Re: Assistant Coaches

7 ACL’s. That’s surely an unwanted record. Sydney must have thought highly of him to keep him on list all that time he was injured and as Swans are generally perceived as one of best run clubs that’s a positive endorsement. Presumably Egan thinks he is worth a go too.

    Good luck Alex.

A big refresh in our coaching ranks. I like that they are youngish coaches, perhaps means they are more likely to have fire in their bellies plus reasonably recent playing experience. X fingers 2024 will be a successful one for our club.

Have we got any coaches who haven’t been exposed to the Amateurs or APS? Maybe Lade the only one?

              Re: Assistant Coaches

Just had a look at Collingwood's coaching set up

              Senior Coach - Craig McRae

Director of Coaching/Backs Coach - Brendon Bolton

              Line Coach - Hayden Skipworth

Head of Strategy/Forwards Coach - Justin Leppitsch

              Assistant Coach/Midfield - Scott Selwood

              Development Coach/Forwards - Neville Jetta

              Development Coach/Defence - Andy Otten

Opposition and Development coach - Jordan Roughead

Head of Development/VFL Coach - Josh Fraser

              Development Coach - Chloe McMillan

Head of NGA/Daicos Academy - Harmit Singh

Thats a lot of coaches. Interesting to compare this with our set up. Who does our oppo anaylsis?

Also have heard that B-Mac has joined them in a part time development coaching role. Jordon Roughead may have got an upgrade as well.

I think we compare pretty well numbers wise, though our roles are a bit different.

                    Re: Assistant Coaches

I briefly read that the 20% of the senior coaches salary can now be out of the soft cap.

Unsure when it all starts etc.

Makes sense, he’s been an effective member of the team.

So clubs are being allowed to pay an extra 20% of their soft cap on coaching this year, obviously this is for the benefit of the Suns and Norf but I wonder if we could take advantage of it.

Better late than never? It's a year late but we asked for change and we got it. I still have a feeling Bevo thinks new facility its going to make a significant impact, a lot of the new players/coaches mentioned that he took them through personally.

Its going to be a fascinating year that's for sure , I can't wait.

                                Re: Assistant Coaches

I like all of our appointments on face value.

Geary was a good leader and will hopefully bring a hardened edge to what has been a mentally fragile playing group. Pratt was tough and comes from a good club/system prior to their list falling apart.

Egan is the one I know least about, aside from him being a very good player with a horrible foot injury ruining his career.

In any case, there's absolutely zero excuses for the club in 2024. That should be the slogan. No excuses.
