Good I'm ok with that. I wonder if that will be the impetus for change. Would rather find out than lose the EF if I'm being honest.
But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

But they put a spare behind the ball when they got the lead. Smart. They out numbered us. Yes he didn't look. But we should be at the top of the goal square to make a contest.

Did we put a spare behind the ball when we went up with five to play. Of course not. We got done out the back and it was three on one. Yes VDM should have kept his feet. But we got out numbered in our D50 when we had the lead in a low scoring affair!!!!

First one I reckon was for Poulter and didn't clear. That other one, yes, he should have had a shot at goal. Disect everyone's performance and you'll find faults. There are shitloads more positives from his game than negatives.

Pretty gutted after that. We dominated for the first 10 minutes of that last quarter, but the guys let Sydney's pressure get inside their heads, and we just fluffed every foray forward.

We are unfit, constantly second to loose balls, and it makes us fear space. We get outrun in attack and in defence.

Oh and the umpires were deplorable. Gobsmacking calls. Even in the last minute, Rhylee West clearly tackled without the ball. Frustrating.

When it is all said and done. It basically comes down to the second quarter and the start of the third quarter. We concede 6 of 7 goals. That is the game. It is a two point game.

We go missing. For a large patch. We lose.

Same thing happened last week. It happens most weeks. Many sliding door moments in that last quarter. But that patch in the middle of the game is the ball game.

                  Seriously. How do you lose?

Same reason we always lose. We concede soft goals on the transition. We concede soft goals in D50 stoppages. Our key defenders can't mark the ball, which puts even more pressure on our defence.
That confirms it that stats are the most over rated part of football.

That's just players not concentrating and getting sucked too high. At some point, at some point, the players have to adapt and stay goal side.

Going a man down before half time doesn't help. Also, we were coming off a six day break and travelling. They had a seven day break. None of that helps. Umpires don't help.

But we had enough of the ball and control of the game to win it.

The thing that concerns me is we're as far away from the top of the ladder as we are from the bottom. We aren't a contender but we aren't getting access to enough early draft picks anytime soon. We're in no mans land.

Tough decisions may need to be made.

Could you imagine being the person who has to do the team review and AGAIN talk about the lapses? It'd be like teaching McBain.

Surely you know. It is a low scoring game. We are a goal up. It is a stoppage on our half forward flank. How does the ball get out of that stoppage so easy for a transition where you get outnumbered in the D50? How? Every single week. Just dumb, dumb football.

Been happening since the final game in 2021. All teams have lapses, ours are extended lapses even against the worst opposition.
