Josie this time I am riding your coat tails. I came to say the exact same things.

He sounds very down to earth and working class.

The dogs have put up footage on our socials of his interview straight after he was drafted - a ripping listen.

His dad by all reports was a VFA legend for Frankston. You have to be bloody tough to survive Frankston back in the day.

I definitely see him moving into the midfield once he gets his endurance up.
More of an In Bruges guy?

So we have added a bull strong midfielder/forward which is more than okay by me.
Seems to be a good lad as well. Looking forward to reading some training reports on him in the coming weeks.
Added bonus is seeing Bornadog back on this thread albeit clearly suffering from a websites version of laryngitis

Welcome to Cooper Hynes and a welcome back to Bornadog

Powell Pepper is another is another reference point for Hynes.

We don't have many on our list with his power/ability to use the fend off and stick a tackle he also looks like a player who could change a game inside 50 in a short period. It sounds like he has only gotten serious about footy in the last few years so fingers crossed there is upside, I do note that Melbourne and Sydney are fans and that makes me a little more comfortable I do rate their recruitment teams.

He looks pretty good and profiles as if he has a bit of upside. No angst here.

A lot of people here would have loved a speedy or skillful player or a Murphy Reid to slide to us but 95% of Doggies supporters can relate to a hard working Cooper Hynes. He will win supporters over quick enough.

See a bit of Clay Smith in his make up. Big body, damaging forward but really good in close.

As an aside, I'd love to have another Clay Smith come along. He was amazing and it was horrible how his knees couldn't stand up. We'd have been a different proposition with him (and Tom Boyd, mind you) these past eight years if they had have been able to put respective careers together.
I've been crying out for a Clay Smith type so hopefully you're right.

I remember feeling old when Boomer Harvey retired, the last player in the league that was older than me. Finding out that Cooper's Dad John Hynes (drafted number 80 in 1997, playing 4 games for Carlton) is younger than me is a real blow.

Is he not quick? He looks pretty explosive if nothing else.

He reminds me of a young Dangerfield the way he moves and has time with the ball. Hopefully he will be half as good.

He didn't test so all we really have are different accounts and eye tests. He looks like he maybe has 'enough' pace to get by

I like fact that he has a mature body and looks like is ready to go from Round 1 next year. Really excited about what Cooper can bring. Seems to be in a good mindset and will have excellent leadership around him to thrive. We are starting to get a next generation midfield and only need another couple of (outside speedy) midfielders to complement what we have.

Clearly this kid has a great attitude and the hunger to be the absolute best footballer he can be, after drastically changing his off-field habits a couple of years ago with obvious great success.

Imagine the further rate of improvement after another 2-3 years of elite training/F&C and continued dedication to his off-field lifestyle. Attitude goes a very long way and this guy seems to have it.

He looks a big strong boy and ready to come in. A bit like Hahn along the shoulders . Seems he is strong enough and has the balance to give the don?t argue.
I like the highlights , Maybe another Tom Green at GWS?

The eye test is the only valid metric. Everything else is nerd shit. Great job Dogs.
