I discovered something today that resolved many of my issues. By changing display mode (in settings) to Posts now feels like the old WOOF.

Hi all,

I'm currently working with a new IT guy about performing a major upgrade from the old version of vBulletin 4.2.5 to 6.0.7
While we are at the initial stages it should happen quickly enough.

Like any major changes there are things we will lose and but more importantly gain.
For example we will lose things like 'Likes' and 'Thanks' options which will be replaced with Reactions.
There are a few other features and add-ons we will lose as well.

The upside is that it will address the interface issue with iPhones and we shouldn't see all the ? and funny characters when content is copied over from media sites.
I've had a test of the latest vBulletin version and it appears to be better for loading pictures and video's into posts and it should be vastly better visually for members who only use mobile phones. That has been the main driver of the upgrade.
It should also be better at stopping those pesky bots for trying to join the site but that's normally just my problem.

In any system upgrade there are things that are gained and some features we will lose. Please be prepared to embrace some changes and probably a slightly annoying adjustment period.

Now that the draft is completed we typically go through a quieter period anyway except for those annoying Doggy-Bag Takeaway Training reports.

Great work GVGjr , im only new here but can already see the work you put into this forum , much appreciated for all you do , and man those doggy -bag takeaways are now my staple diet , many thanks .not all of us can get to the training days but your reports have us there right beside you , which to some or maybe most you probably don't realise how great full we are.

You're far better off uploading to a cloud share platform like postimages or IMGbb and then generating a link and pasting it here.

That way woof doesn't have to store the images as storage cost cold hard .

I'm more than happy to do a guide if peeps want that and sticky it.

I just had a post flagged as spam and is now awaiting approval. I think the cause was editing a couple of times just after posting to correct some errors. Not sure if that is operating as intended or not?

I've logged an issue to work out why editing a post quickly after submitting it causes it to go into moderation. Jeemak had the same issue yesterday..I'll update this when I hear back.

I think mjp had a very similar issue.

Yep - it happened to me...I think I left my in edit in an inactive browser for a while then went back to finish a post.

I WISH it had been a controversial and spam worthy post...

So just copy and pasted an article, comes up as unapproved. All my posts require approval now?

Edit: Apparently not as this one posted ok. Is there an issue with posting articles? Links were present.

Nah I never edited this one so something else at play. Wondered it it was something to do with the links - the copy and paste picks up all the links in the article now which it never used to on the old site.

Interestingly I also had one of my posts flagged (The Australian open thread) as unapproved. I stayed on the page and then refreshed it and then it posted.
