    Re: Ekers

Big Tiger announces immediate retirement - http://www.afl.com.au/news/2018-06-2...ate-retirement

Shaun Hampson has succumbed to a chronic back condition and retires after 98 games with two clubs over 12 seasons.

If that doesn't put him into the Eker hall of fame then surely his long term relationship with Megan Gale puts him over the edge.

      Re: Ekers

Less than a hundred games over twelve seasons is bloody impressive ekering.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Looks like it's going to be a sad year for the Ekers, by my count we've already lost 3 and probably going to lose 2 or 3 more.

Has Majak done enough to elevate himself from Eker status?

              Yes, i think so

And Shaun McKernan with a two year deal - perhaps hasnt elevated himself but has Eke'd his way to close to a decade of employment

I think Kyle Cheney is a pretty reasonable player.

At one stage Dawson Simpson looked like he may elevate himself above Eker status too

Dawson Simpson nearly got me and my son into a punch on against GWS last year. At quartertime a guy walks past wearing a #26 GWS jumper and a mate of mine yells out "good on you Dawson!"and this guy turns on his heel and wants to take the 3 of us on!
We calmed him the *!*!*!*! down after a bit but wanted to taunt us about winning flags first. "Ummm, you don't get to do that mate. You blokes jibbed it when it came to it. And now they will miss out bigtime"

                      Re: Ekers

I'm conflicted, is there a status over or above that of the Eker?

I believe the Eker exists on his own continuum within space and time, and once a player is considered an Eker the status to which you, I, or the regularly playing footballer refers means very little to them.
                      TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

Another Eker down with Pedersen not offered another contract with Melbourne.

Does Honeychurch become an eker if he gets picked up by another club ?
What would be more prized, a one team eker or multiple team eker?

Great work by Tom Campbell to extend his career at North and really push towards eker legend status. Multiple clubs are a common trait amongst the greatest ekers.

With Campbell gone who is our nominated eker?

I'm thinking Webb is probably best qualified with 24 games across 4 seasons and unlikely to add many (if any) games this season due to his unfortunate injury.

Roberts rates a mention with 49 games over 7 seasons (who knew he had been on the list that long?). His excellent 2016 season with 18 games probably saves him here.
