That is the plan but it may change (very low chance) if there is someone still available that we rate a number of positions ahead of the pick we were intending to pass on.

Sweet and Khamis will be elevated to the senior list and it looks like Baker and one more as rookies.

I want us to bid on Davey if the Bombers don't trade ahead of us. Highest recorded in-game speed for the year! Kid has serious wheels (they'd be crazy not to match).
Busslinger is going to take some time and Bennier might be more ready from next season.
I really like Davey as a player and I've mentioned it before he doesn't need to get a lot of the footy to make a difference or impact.

Leary isn't a pressure small forward but he can kick goals and that might be appealing for us.

          Re: 2022 Draft Watch

          From the HUN

WHO IS STILL LEFT ON THE BOARD?

The first round of the draft was going to script until the Swans ruffled feathers, placing back-to-back bids on Harry Rowston (GWS NGA) and Max Michalanney (Adelaide father-son), before allowing the Hawks in to snatch Josh Weddle and taking small-forward Jacob Konstanty for themselves before the Giants could.

It saw the back end of the top 20 take on a different look and leaving a number of highly-rated prospects still on the board.

Running Tasmania defender Lachie Cowan had some strong interest in the teens, and Sydney and Bulldogs will have a close look early in the second round.

The draft’s best ruckman Harry Barnett is unlikely to last long on the second night, with the Giants, Magpies and Swans showing plenty of pre-draft interest.

Melbourne might come for the opening pick of the second night with Barnett in mind, while Adelaide has also been working the phones as they look trade back in.

Key tall Lewis Hayes, running defender Jakob Ryan, smart midfielder-forward Olli Hotton, swingman Max Gruzewski and the exciting Brayden George are are five others to watch for tonight.

Gilbey potentially trading at a substantial 'injury discount' as is George.
Cowan's go home factor still worries me.

              Re: 2022 Draft Watch

I do like Burgiel from the games I watched he looks very natural for mine, he is clean, quick a neat enough kick and has the ability to win his own ball.

I still think Clarke will be taken next, we have been crying out for a player like him for awhile. You always wonder on what the upside is for that style of player and I wish he was alittle quicker but does tick alot of boxes.

Cowan and Hotton sound good also I must say I have liked all the players linked at our picks.

Bennier at 39 is an exciting prospect from the limited vision thats out there, would love to add him to our list with Busslinger.

Then 23 we shop for mids mids mids.

The pre-night two pick trade window just closed. NO TRADES.

All going to be live trades from here.

Speaking of live trades the Age reported that Sydney warned GWS they would bid on their academy kid if they didn’t take Sydney’s trade offer. I can’t remember the exact detail of the picks involved.
GWS said no; so Sydney said ok then…

Yep I read that. Beatson said it was where they rated the players. I tend to think Fletcher, Rowston and Michalanney is where we and the Swans rated them but I'd be okay if it's also a bit of a jumper punch.

If George had not done his ACL, where would he have gone in the draft?

It was essentially burn your pick this year, or trade us you're F1 tied to Richmond. It was a dead set gangster move by Sydney.

We can do the exact thing with Essendon now with Davey Jnr, unless Essendon want an ever fairer trade we could offer the dons.
