Re: 2025 List Management Thread
Bigdog some posters around these parts would have you believe their is a contract thread with all the players contract details.
He extended his contract in early 2023 until the end of 2026.

Re: 2025 List Management Thread
Every chance it 8 players or so. JOD needs to be upgraded so that?s an easy one. We could upgrade Bramble & McNeil too, but then we have the issue of having a near empty rookie list which isn?t ideal either. Maybe we trade in a couple of players. Pretty sure Baker needs to be promoted or delisted unless they extend the three year term limit next year which is being proposed. We might need/choose to leave open a spot for the MSD.
It looks like being a fairly complicated year if some players can demand a new contract. Which I suspect is going to the case. A couple like Coff might get a one year extension, and we gave Gardy an extra season so he?s not to 2026.
How we might want to make it bigger in numbers by keeping Keath is confusing. And to smooth things better across two years I think you can make a case to pay someone out this year and reduce the turnover next year to maybe 6-7. Mind you that number doesn?t include blokes wanting a trade out of the club either.
History says as you say we aren?t a destination club, so it?ll be interesting to see what we do with our salary cap space and if we have another crack at XOH if he doesn?t sign on to stay there.
Then have we learned from Dunkley & Smith to look at trading/allowing trades of contracted guys to maximise value?
On the flip side, if the next year is primarily West & Cooney then Milesi and his team need to have a good couple of cracks at the draft too.
Good thing we have Sam Power!
I would love for us to land starcevich or Raynor. However I just can’t see starcivich leaving and I think Raynor will land at a big club (Essendon would have the cap and appeal if they have a reasonable year).
Well if we think JUH is any danger of leaving we have to cut him off and take the bounty of high picks early rather than get reemed.
I thought Gardner was in his final year in 2025. Didn’t he sign a 3 year deal in 2022?Leave a comment:

Re: 2025 List Management Thread
Chances are next off season will be a big one. Really need to get this Draft right and start pick up some good Free agents.
Chances are the following will retire:
Libba
Doc
L.Jones
JJ
The following are on the chopping block without a big uptick in performance:
Cleary
Scott - Not a bad player but 30 odd now with concussion history doesn?t bode well for him.
Baker
The others in danger are:
Coffield - Needs to get some consistency with the body. I hope he becomes a regular next year, but needs to build on this year.
Gardiner - would rather keep. Good insurance policy.
A.Jones - I like him, but the writing is on the wall if he doesn?t get played.
Poulter - As above
The sort of turnover we see next year will be a ireal test for the list management team. We don?t seem to have the advantages of picking up free agents or trading in proven footballers that other sides do.

Re: 2025 List Management Thread
Good news with Garcia. He's done well to get 3 years. We probably could have got him for 2 if we made the offer 6 weeks before the end of the season. I don't know the financials but I'm topping it's not a bad deal for the club and the player.Leave a comment:

2025 List Management Thread
Going to be a big year, 2025 contract decisions. Might be a big turnover year, so perhaps this year might be lean to not o er cook things over two years:
Top Liners:
Adam Treloar
Marcus Bontempelli
Sam Darcy
Ed Richards
Oldies:
Liam Jones
Tom Liberatore
Taylor Duryea
JJ
Fringe/Non Gun Players:
Luke Cleary
Arthur Jones
Laitham Vandermeer
Oskar Baker (Rookie)
Anthony Scott
James O?Donnell (Rookie)
Caleb Poulter (Rookie)
Nick Coffield
Lachlan Smith
Likely to still have a heap of salary cap even after re-signing our guns.Last edited by bulldogtragic; 21-11-2024, 10:27 PM.Tags: None
