    Re: Lachlan Hunter?

So where would he be rated without the father son pick?

Or is the jury still out on him?

Agreed. I've seen him a couple of times last year and the same this year and I would be surprised if he worked his way into first round considerations. The Combine might lift his profile though.
If a few things go our way, a 3rd round pick would be a good deal.

I posted this on another thread, but here's a photo of him playing in Adelaide a few weeks ago

So what changes were made to the actual father/son bidding?

Basically, players are presented now as a group rather than offered one by one. If a club uses their pick to bid for a father son player and then the nominated team matches that bid, the bidding club will then still be able to use that same pick to bid for another player.

I fail to see how this could be beneficial to us as mentioned by Slim

I think it leaves it open for possible routing.
Say Gws bid for a player but miss out and then continue to bid til they snare one or inflate the value of a father/son.

Took a very couragous mark with a few minutes to go in the game in the balance and won a 50m from it to goal and wrap the game up.

I believe they could already do that, so it won't change that. It's reportedly designed to stop a loophole of a club using an earlier pick on a player that comes up before their nominated player so that then their next available pick, when it comes to matching another club, is lower down.

This way it goes in pick order, rather than player order. The example given in the article about Essendon and Stewart is a good example of the loophole that had existed.

Wasn't one of his better games today. Thought he only had an influence towards the latter part of the game.

Crap game all round I thought. He is a nice one touch type and good to see him take a good mark and ice the game.

Greystache, much the same view as above, but it was a crap game to watch - very blustery and cold conditions. So i imagine the conditions weren't right for great footy.

That's annoying. The best thing about scheduling games at Etihad was we got to see the best young kids in pristine conditions. Not a fan of them playing down at Skilled.
