Good call. His field kicking is spot on, but his set shots just lack penetration at times, which suggests it's a ball drop/technique thing.

I think it's the man on the mark. His field kicking often requires him to kick around the guy on the mark but he has to go straight over his opponent on the set shots.
Too often goal kick practice at training does not have a player on the mark and it's a different kick required on match day.

He and Grant both struggle with that and need to put the work in over pre-season to fix it.

There's nothing more deflating than winning the ball and getting it into a scoring position, only for wayward forwards squandering the opportunity.

Did you see the reserves game GVG? I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on O'Shea.

It was his best game in a while even allowing for his shocking run this year but his skill level and decision making as you noted is still a long way off. He's another one who can roost the ball 50mtrs around the ground but struggles to get the distance from 35mtrs on a set shot.

Jones does look the goods. As a few have said I cant wait to see what he can do next year! Grant will definetely struggle to get back into the seniors! Boumann just keeps getting better every week. Roughead will also be a beauty.

Joyce was much better, as was Davies.
I know Joyce is small, very small but he seems to have a footy brain and quite smart around goals, not sure how quick he is off the mark but could we look to rookie list him? He is still only 19 or so even though he looks 10.
What do you think Comrade or GVGjr
More of an In Bruges guy?

He's got plenty of talent but he is very small. He might need another season or so to really come into consideration.

Is he shorter than Libba? He looks like it.

Joyce is 174 or 175cm so he's a lot taller than Libba

                      Yep, Libba was only 164cm.

Do you think he would be a player we would look at putting on the rookie list?

Grasshopper, Dylan Joyce is tiny, not overly quick and lacks any type of penetration in his kicking. He's got Richmond written all over him.

Keep your pants on Comrade. In the local paper Boumann got a wrap from the coach where he stated that Jarrod played on Deluca and had 19 possessions with 9 spoils and 8 team acts (not too sure what they classify as team acts, covering for a teammate, tapping the ball to a temmate amongst other things). Went on to say it was bar far the best game he had seen Boumann ever play!
