Massive budget too -- what a wasted opportunity. First mistake was hiring Ryan Reynolds. Not enough gravitas for the role: the character in the comic books has a pretty heavy personality (and ends up destroying all of reality at one point), too much depth for a lightweight playboy like Reynolds.
My sentiments exactly; the justification I was given to being taken to it was "Ryan Reynolds is hot", so take that for what you will.

He should've stuck to playing Berg.

I haven't seen No Strings Attached so that's probably why I enjoyed Friends With Benefits. Thought there was a really good chemistry between Mila Kunis & Justin Timberlake.

Loved 'The Guard'. Quirky comedy, crime flick set in Ireland.

It was compared to In Bruges & Hot Fuzz. Have you seen either of those?

I intend to see The Guard
More of an In Bruges guy?

I saw Horrible Bosses recently. Jason Bateman plays the same character in everything (except Teen Wolf Too I guess) but his bewildered straight man routine is top shelf.
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

              In Bruges is hilarious.

Love him and love Charlie Day. I take it the movie is at least somewhat good?

Have seen In Bruges and loved it. The Guard is lighter in its drama than In Bruges.

There is similarity with The Guard, although more biased to suttle comedy than crime drama. Thought the main, Gleeson, was excellent in his role, some of his lines at Don Cheadle are hilarious. I watched it a second time just take in some of the lines. It's quite understated and cleverly pulled together.

Curious to hear what you think of it.

It's pretty good. If you're a fan of both actors, it's worth seeing, if only for the introduction of the phrase "I’d like to bend her over a barrel and show her the 50 states".

                      Re: Upcoming Movies

As I post, I am watching Fire in Babylon. A film about how West Indies became a powerhouse in the 80's. It gets a little political throughout the film, but interesting nonetheless.
I always appreciated how naturally gifted they were Holding, Roberts, Garner, Croft, Lloyd, Marshall Haynes, Richards and Greenidge to name just a few.....
Must say it is enjoyable to watch, highly recommended!

Had a great laugh watching Horrible bosses think we can all relate in some way.
I am interested in the new movie J.Edgar, hope its about a look inside his real life and not the public hero he was made out to be, sadly being an american movie and him being an american icon I doubt it, but we can only hope.

I am into real life history but America has an issue with making all historic events into love stories which I find quite an insult.
They also lack finding facts and stick to the rule" never let the truth spoil a good story", need to realize the truth is sometimes more interesting and a little respect for the dead would be nice.
Major examples being the Titanic and Pearl Harbour.

Was pretty good, enjoyed it. Damn Jen Anniston is an absolute cougar.

I just watched The Greatest Movie Ever Sold, a movie/doco by Morgan "Supersize Me" Spurlock, its all about advertising. Funny, Ironic and Genius, recommend it

Has anyone seen Midnight in Paris, the latest Woody Allen film. If you are a fan, then this is vintage Woody.

Also saw the Driver last week, highly recommend it to those who like a bit of suspense, car chases. Very violent in a few scenes.

"Midnight in Paris" could be the description of my WOOF posting history over this last 18 months. Have seen bits of it -- looks beautiful (I guess it's hard to make Paris look anything but) and I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of the movie.

Saw both 'Senna' and 'Fire in Balylon' recently - both were exceptionally well made documentaries that don't require you to be a massive F1 or cricket fan to appreciate. Best two films I've seen this year.
