Haven't been to Rockpool, but that burger sounds delicious.

I was a big case of judging a book by its cover - his hairstyle choice leaves a lot to be desired.

However I also look forward to his recipes in the Saturday Age Weekender.

Me too, definately a fav. I was lucky enough to get a personally signed cook book earlier this year and its recipes are the same as he uses in his restaurants which means you can cook his stuff at home which is great, especially his mac and cheese recipe. Rockpool is the best in its style, the food is sensational. His Asian restaurant Spice Temple is also very good. Haven't yet tried his new Italian venture.

What makes a good hamburger is so subjective! I had a surprisingly good one at beer deluxe at Fed Square - You enter beer deluxe on the Flinders st side.

There are a couple of decent options in Moonee Ponds these days (15 mins north of the city) but 20 mins by train. Just Burgers and New York Minute.

Below is a link to urban spoon - I don't normally read the reviews as I tend to find that people only right reviews when their experience isn't flash.
What I look for is the overall percentage, but also how many people have voted.

If you are ever in Warrnambool make sure you get your hands around a Kermond's burger. Brilliant stuff.

I sometimes buy a Heston burger from one of the butchers at Prahran market then cook it to my liking, they are delicious.

I might check the ones in Moonee Ponds out. 20 years ago there was a place on Moonee Ponds called the Chinese Hamburger shop. It sold mince, verges and spices made into a patty then dipped in batter and deep fried. Best place to stop at on the way home to ward of a hang over ever. Those things just seemed to absorb all the alcohol in your system.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

It's an out and out wank fest these days isn't it.

Excellent burger joint in our very own and humble Footscray, called 8bit. Excellent American style burgers.
                            TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

8-Bit was good, enjoyed it a lot.

Some of my favourites would be Tree Of Us (Richmond), The B.East and Spotted Mallard (Brunswick). If you're in the CBD I would recommend Gloria Swanson's Diner, Trunk or The Merrywell as places that serve a relatively consistent burger.
Have you heard Butters wants to come to the Dogs?

I like 8bit. You're obviously not a hipster G, it's been getting smashed on urbanspoon since it was "discovered by the uncool".
