It's a draw between 8-bit and The beer and burger for me.
8-bit burgers are amazing and they are in our heartland to top it off. You know they're good when the line is out the door.
The beer and burger is in Swan St Richmond. Wow. Beautiful burgers and a great choice for craft beers (if that's your thing). They've done studies you know, 60% of the time, it works every time!

Re: Best hamburger in Melbourne and beyond
FIFTY customers who lined up early at Victoria’s first ever Carl’s Jr restaurant got themselves free burgers for a year and an unhealthy level of cholesterol.
The burger chain once known for showcasing scantily clad women to sell food opened is first store in the state today at Knox City, in Melbourne’s southeast.
Among those who will eat free at the restaurant was the Wenz family from California, self-described “burger fanatics” who moved to Australia five years ago and have longed for a taste of home.
“Carl’s Jr is by far our favourite family restaurant from our hometown and we are so excited to see it arriving in Victoria,” Carl Wenz said.
“My favourite burger is the Western Bacon Cheeseburger and I can’t wait to be the first customer to be through the door at Knox. We are burger fanatics.”
Carl’s Jr has stores in Queensland, NSW and South Australia, and will expand into other areas of Victoria later this year. There are plans to open stores at Cranbourne and Docklands.
The Carl’s Jr of 2018 is significantly different from what it once was. Jason Marker, the Australian-born CEO, said the “burgers and bikinis strategy” is long gone because what once worked now has “the potential to be more ostracising and polarising than where we want to be as an organisation and a brand”.
“That advertising strategy created an edge for the brand internationally and we obviously want to maintain that boldness and that disruptive tone. We’re not doing food in a boring way, we’re doing food in a breakthrough, contemporary way,” he said.
“We’re going back to what we stood for which is the best quality and most outstanding food. The category is driven by taste, convenience and value. The number one driver in the category is taste. All our advertising moving forward is food-centric.”
Carl’s Jr opened its first Australian store in 2016 at Bateau Bay on the NSW central coast.
At the time, and in keeping with the brand’s identity, Australian model Gemie Howe starring in the first local TV ad.
In the US, a 2015 Super Bowl ad featured model Charlotte McKinney appearing to walk through a market wearing nothing.
“I love going all natural,” she tells the camera. “It just makes me feel better.”
You won’t be seeing those ads anymore, but operators say the burgers and fries remain the same.
Mr Marker said burger-crazed Aussies are the perfect market for the company’s expansion plans.
“It’s a $20 billion market. Burgers are big here.”"Footscray people are incredible people; so humble. I'm just so happy - ecstatic"Comment

St.Burgs is now my leading burger joint by far. My only concern is they have expanding to three or four stores now. I find when an independent outlet tries to open new stores it never really works out.More of an In Bruges guy?Comment

For those in Adelaide or anyone that heads over, you can't go past Bread and Bone in the city. It is situated between Leigh and Peel streets, which are two streets that have seen a dramatic transformation and are now jammed packed with a whole bunch of cool little bars.
