Funnily enough I used to go to school with the guy who was the licensee of the Railway hotel at the time. Lovely guy. He was a bouncer at many venues around Melbourne (Prince of Wales, the Corner, the Lounge, the Esplanade) too. He died from a heart attack nearly 30 years ago.

His brother Con wrestled in the WWF and in Australia under the name of Mr Damage. I understand he was quite well known. His dad Alex Iakovidis was a well known wrestler on Australian TV in the 1960s when Jack Little had the wrestling show on C9
I remember all those guys Td. Going back a long way. When I was growing up there were the Yarraville boys, the Footscray boys, the Sunshine boys etc etc. Pretty much a war when they arrived at the same place.

It was great rocking up to a venue where they were working the door. You'd walk straight past the line and get "Twodogs mate, come on in. Have a great night. Hey Door Bitch this guy's name is on the door" and then to the next person would get "sorry guys it's a private function/ladies night/we're full/not in those shoes tonight"

Braybrook boys were the ones to steer clear of at the annual all in punch on in the park behind Footscray tech.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Gee I’m young relative to Twodogs and B4L it is always intersting hearing about what the old school inner west was like back in the day.

Had a Parma and Chips at the Victoria Hotel in Footscray today to celebrate the win!

Parma and chips I had last week at the Railway Hotel in Yarraville:

I just went to Kingsville (bordering on Yarraville) to get a halal snack pack with chips. The bloke who served me put the chips under the meat in the container.

We were only a two minute drive to the Yarraville nets too. If he wasn't a massive Lebanese bloke it could have been on!

That's how an HSP is supposed to be served.

It wasn't really anything to do with the chips or the HSP. It's a shame to waste a Saturday night without a punch on.

Well there's plenty of hipster places with scrawny staff and idiosyncratic elements to their menus and serving processes in your area now, so I'm sure you'll not have to look too hard for trouble if that's what you're after.

I have now been to 3 pubs in the inner west. Victoria Hotel in Footscray, Railway Hotel in Yarraville and Steam Packet Hotel in Williamstown.

This is the Parma and chips I had at the Steam Packet Hotel in Williamstown today celebrating the Doggies win and Brucey 10! Brucey! Brucey!
