What are you watching at the moment

In the theme of the binge watching thread, I tend to consume tv shows in blocks. I'll watch an episode or 2 each night in bed before I go to sleep. I'm just about to finish Criminal Minds which I've enjoyed, even if it can be a bit same-same.

I've also completed Breaking Bad, Dexter, and Rizzoli & Isles recently, and am halfway through House of Cards, but am watching that with the wife.

I'm thinking of going with something old like Entourage or West Wing, does anyone have any suggestions. Ps I'm not into Game Of Thrones.

I've slipped behind in True Detective, but liked the first few eps.
The 'Seinfeld reunion' series of Curb your enthusiasm I just loved.
I did the Sopranos every night or so from start to finish. Great watching in a block.
Last season if The West Wing in blocks I did with the wife, it's awesome, so much so when Foxtel started it from the beginning again she watched that from ep1 to finish again.
I thought the first season of Boardwalk Empire was excellent.
Thinking of doing Frontline again, it's been a long, long while.
I lost my IQ box in moving so I lost all the first series of House of Cards so I need to catch up.

The Sopranos is a good shout, I've got that on my NAS. I might start on that, should take 4-5 months I guess.

Edit- I just noticed it's only 86 episodes, shouldn't take too long to get through.

I think we did it in 3-4 months. I got the collection for about $30 in Thailand a few years back, and in a few years I'll do it again too. The original Underbelly apparently is so much better than what they're serving up ATM. Could be a good binge as a retro Aussie series?

I just edited my post. Yeah only 86 episodes, much less than I thought.

The original Underbelly wasn't bad, since then they've gotten tackier and tackier as it increasingly tries to cater to bogans (just like everything else on Australian TV)

So it's not just us then. Phew.

I'm giving some of the Aussie shows a go, but much is garbage. I'm just waiting for the wheel to turn, or a series that appeals not to the lowest common denominator, hopefully Working Dog have got something. As for crime shows, I think it's lost on the powers that be that the original Underbelly was a gripping story, not just random nudity.

'The Walking Dead' if you're zombie shows, my favourite show ATM...until GOT starts again at least.

Love 'Hell on wheels' as well, set when they were building the railway from one side of the USA to the other.

                Sopranos is highly recommended.

Have you seen The wire? I finished that off in December and also loved it.

Can you sum it up in two sentences, I think Twodogs recommended it to me a while back, but I've not done it. I think it was a conversation about The Shield, which is another recommendation. Awesome, awesome show.

I've downloaded it but haven't watched it yet. Some pretty intelligent people I know say it's brilliant. Having done a few cop shows recently I might give it a try after something in between.

The Wire is my favourite show by far. Nothing can come close.

I'm currently trying to watch breaking bad - struggling - Up to season four episode three. Season 2 & 3 were painful.

Season 3 was particularly disappointing. Season 4 is really good in the end. Then season 5 is good and 6 is excellent.

I've had 4 or 5 goes at Breaking Bad but it just doesn't do it for me.

The Wire is sensational but I had to watch the first episode a few times before I could get it.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Hang on, there's people who haven't watched The Wire...wtf?

Seriously though it is *!*!*!*!ing genius.
I'm also a big wrap for Friday Night Lights and Justified. Enjoyed Nurse Jackie as an under the radar show that doesn't take too long to get through. Really enjoy the supporting cast in that one.
