I recall Symonds and Blewett being able to get their pace up into that area, while Steve Waugh had a difficult to pick pace change up/slower ball?

Was the talk about the physical toll taken on our bowlers just a rouse? Or are we expecting some moisture and better bowling conditions given the humidity and potential for showers?
    TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

I know. Who'd have thought that cricket would ever be played in that sort of weather?

Do we just have a talented but particularly brittle stock of fast bowlers or are the sports Scientests (strictly speaking I don't really know what they are or do, but the meeja blame them for everything so I thought I'd throw them in) to blame?

Or, (and you might want to stop and take a breath halfway through this sentence.) given the advances in preperation and recovery, improvement in medical procedures and the like, are kids who may have been written off in their teens as having an injury that would have seen them not be able to play the game at its highest level fifteen or twenty years ago being managed better these days and advancing to Shield and international cricket and thus need more management.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Symonds had a pretty good bouncer. That was pretty quick although the speed gun discriminates positively in favour of shorter balls

BTW it's 'Ruse'. We'd be waking them up otherwise.

Good wicket to Lyon with his 3rd delivery of his first over, nice spin and bounce finds the glove

I'm in transit at the moment (Hong Kong right now) so have only caught highlights, but very interesting how much that ball from Lyon gripped and spun

Not as much as Tom Boyd's did. Not only did it go through for a goal, it would have done most top class batsmen in the World with flight and spin like that.

Merv Hughes today basically said that Maddison is ahead of other similar batsmen due to his bowling. Is he still a selector??

Attended yesterday and have to say the sightsceeen has its own postcode !
They could have played an extra hour yesterday, and test cricket and the officials have to better than that .
People want bang for their buck and not players off when it's barely a pizzle coming out of the sky .
                        Very frustrating

It's the silly rain delay rules. It says that before the umpires can resume after a rain delay it has to have completely stopped raining. I think they were written by the CFMEU.

                              Where's BT?

We really needed Maddinson to stick with Smith then and play a stabilising role.
