Re: 2018 Tour of South Africa

So South Africa are still blameless? There were SA cricket officials wearing these masks. SA cricket should be be investigated over this.

They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

I don't agree what was done but your wrong in stating that officials were wearing them , they weren't they posed for a picture of spectators with them on who asked for a picture.
In hindsight it's terrible but at the time it was probably done in seconds with the officials not even having time to think what the repercussions might be if any.
For all we know the spectators could have put the masks up just as the picture was being taken.

It's a very very hard to be politically correct when everyone has a camera no matter where you turn, people take pics now to get famous and entrap people of any power.
Don't get me wrong I'm not condoning it but we see a lot of it in the papers now , even the footage of the original "Stoush" shouldn't have been out it was in a private area.
Also like to add two wrongs don't make it right De Cock did the wrong thing and so did Warner retaliating, I understand it but who was responsible for letting it all out to the media ? Especially what was said, someone in the teams told the media and that's what's caused it to go viral. Don't blame the public when you put it out there in public.

It's not an issues about SA it's primarily an issue between 2 players and two teams.
How a few bozos react shouldn't cloud the real issue. They should be dealt with
I maintain that Warner was chipping away at a player for a whole session, because he has been given a license to do so by the coach who thinks he plays his best cricket as the attack dog, and an opposition player sending one back his way and all of a sudden Warner becomes super sensitive.

If you are going to be the enforcer or the attack dog of your team then you have to suck it up when something comes back at you.

According to reports this morning security guards had stopped the spectators entering with the masks on. The spectators then contacted the South African officials in question and said can you get us in.

Clearly Warner should have been suspended. Isn't that the problem with 90% of enforcers that they can't suck it up when something comes back at them?

I do believe though that the on field and off field angst has lead to a great couple of days of test cricket.

The boys wanted to get in wearing their masks and the SA officials waved then in.

It's gone way past Warner and De Kock and into the culture of SA cricket and the attitude of SA cricket officialdom. That's what we are examining now. Do Kock is yesterday's news. And he is lucky that he's yesterday's news, his actions were disgraceful.

De Kock crossed the line, simple as that. There is sledging and then there is un-called for sledging.

Other one journo mentioning something, I didn't hear anything else.

With the incident about the masks, we can deduce what DE Kock was talking about and that is not very nice.

This is the problem I have with the way Warner went about it. Chipped away at him all session, made a comment about his sister and then 'wanted' to get physical because of a comment coming back at him about his wife. It just keeps escalating until everyone steps over the line. He got offended because a comments was directed about his wife but really we should all be offended by comments directed towards any women.

Hopefully there is a good lesson to learn for both sides.

The first hour has belonged to SA. AB closing in on a century and Philander providing great support.

Completely agree. Both players in the wrong and a lack of leadership on both sides to rein it in. It's up to the captains to make sure it doesn't get out of hand.

This is a match winning lead for South Africa. If we get out of this one, I suspect Smith will be doing the heavy lifting.

Has Warner said that he made a comment about De Kock's sister? I thought we only had De Kock's word on that and i don't know that he'd be very keen on signing an affidavit affirming everything he's said so far to be true.

I'm happy to stand corrected but last time I looked we only had that story from one source.

That source was a Journo, de Kock has not mentioned it (that I know of). What de Kock said about Warner's wife was disgusting and I believe it refers to the time she was with Sonny Bill Williams, hence the masks worn by those idiots.

I believe 95% of men would have got angry at deKock.
