Sounds like UEFA is going to give them a bigger slice of the pie so they got what they were after.

I think you might have been having less of a dream and more of a delusion.
Back to Dinamo Zagreb next year for Spurs I guess.

Re: Break away European Super League.

This whole thing has me genuinely baffled.

I could possibly make a case for the big 3 from Spain wanting in, but the English and Italian clubs? This was always going to go over like a lead balloon.

All they are left with now is an embarrassing backflip and a hell of a lot of bad press.

When Kerry Packer built World Series Cricket, he did so over genuine discontent from players about the amount of money they were getting out of the game, given the revenues at the time.

The same surely cannot be said here.

Europe hasn't even reached a stage where they're fully recovering from the pandemic, and these clubs pull a stunt like this?

I'm scratching my head to try and figure out the endgame here.

Surely this is more than a case of 'not reading the room'. This blew up in a way I've never seen before.

If I'm a manager of one of these clubs I'm *!*!*!*!ing furious with the owner/ executives right now.

Yes unfortunately Leicester still have to lower themselves to Spurs and Arsenal.

I guess they know they are the cash cows for the FA/UEFA/FIFA and want more out of it for themselves rather than lining these CEOs pockets.

Pretty amazing achievement by the owners of the breakaway clubs to make UEFA/FIFA look like the champions of the people.

The most boring games year after year are between the big teams. City vs United, Chelsea vs Liverpool, Liverpool vs United

Leeds under Bielsa have been the most entertaining this season along with City. I love KDB.

They knew what they were doing - they wanted more dollars and they will now get it.

Will there be any backlash or penalties for the breakaway clubs? The EPL shouldn't allow acts of treason to go unpunished.

The interesting part for me was that based on a number of people I know who support the likes of United, and Liverpool etc their fans were livid and wanted their clubs to cop their lumps. City and Chelsea fans not so much.

Did you not see the protests at the Bridge?

Im involved in a couple of forums and it was condemned by all.

Maybe the Pool and Man U fans were livid as those two clubs plus Real are the masterminds behind it.
