If it's raining, I want to see both teams come out and say "you know what, *!*!*!*! it, we're doing this in the rain".

You can't have a tied world cup. Even if T20 world cups are complete shit.

Yes! It's 20/20 world exhibition cricket smash bash brawl.
What is more entertaining than skidding and sliding bouncers !
Let's give the bowlers a leg up for a change.

England way too professional and their selections of more specialists T20 players paid dividends.

We now need to have a close look at out set-up and selections going forward.

Yep, the game changed when Masood went out which stopped Pakistan's momentum in their innings and their middle order foolishly tried to hit out on the big MCG instead of working the 2's and 3's - they ended up 20 runs under par. Their bowlers fought really hard and were unlucky (especially Naseem), and Afridi's untimely injury changed the game completely when England really looked in a hole mid innings.

The better all round team definiely won. Curran and Rashid bowled beautifully to put the clamps on.

                Re: T20 World Cup - 2022

Curran must be the best T20 bowler in the world - I thought he was exceptional last night and all tournament.

Completely agree GVG that we need to re-think how we select our T20 side.

I thought we'd struggle before the tournament because we put wayyy too much emphasis on a lucky tournament win in Dubai (Finch couldn't lose a toss, a few stellar performances dragged us over the line, our form leading into it was terrible), we hadn't played enough cricket and the majority of the side was out of form.

I'd be making some big culls after that effort. Cummins isn't in our best side, Starc's numbers have been poor for a long time, I have no idea why Kane Richardson is still around the international setup, Finch is gone, Smith, Maxwell and Stoinis all have big question marks, it seems like Wade has hinted he'll be going - there's a lot of room for change.

Just spitballing, but I wouldn't mind something like:
                Warner
                Phillipe (wk)
                Marsh (c)
                Maxwell
                David
                Green
                Agar
                Kerr
                Ellis
                Hazlewood
Zampa (though I'd get Tanveer Sangha around the squad)

Hayden Kerr Lem? If so, that's an inspired selection and I had to go searching to check his credentials which are impressive

I'd look to go with something like McDermott (wk) and Sams as an allrounder.
Sams, Agar and Kerr would provide a lot of depth in the batting. McDermott to cover the keeping duties.

Yep - Hayden Kerr it is. Offers good lower-order hitting and bowls skiddy left-armers with a heap of variation. Had a good BBL and backed it up for Derbyshire.

He's a bit of an 'English model' selection. Batting depth at 7,8 and 9 so that your batsman can play freely.

Maxy is going to miss some cricket. Who replaces him?
