    Certainly picks his attacking efforts.
He was really unlucky not to debut last year. Averaged about 80 for the Victorian second XI and has churned out a bunch of runs at Premier Cricket level. He also had a ridiculous season playing in the Northern Territory - he peeled off 5 consecutive hundreds or something ridiculous like that.

Interesting that I don't think he's really been involved in Australian or state youth teams but has just made a load of runs at Premier level that couldn't be ignored

He looks technically sound but he doesn't appear to have a huge range of strokes. He's batted for a large part of the day for his 62 no
and has placed The Vic's in a reasonable position of 3 for 210.

Queensland made an unconvincing 211 in their first inning led by half centuries to Khawaja and Neser and Jhye Richardson taking four wickets

In reply WA are 7 for 53 with Mark Steketee taking 5 for 15 off 9 overs.

After an exceptionally bumpy start WA got home comfortably in the end thanks to an unbeaten 70 from Aaron Hardie and 69 from Hilton Cartwright.

The ball really dominated the game.

I'm not big on Chandrasinghe being pushed to the top of the order. He likes to come forward and sit on that front foot a little too much - think the moving, hard ball will challenge him in the same way it did with Shane Watson. I think the same thing about Will Pucovski - would much prefer them at 3 and 4.

*And he's just been bowled by Bird with a peach through the gate. Jackson Bird is so unlucky to have not played more Test cricket.

Also great to see Campbell Kellaway debut for Victoria! He had a really good U19 World Cup and is certainly one for the future. Really enjoying the Vics pushing some of their youngsters through this season.

Certainly is a contrast to Tassie's dads army of Bird, Siddle, Wade, etc. At least Ellis is playing (although he's surprisingly 28), in an earlier game Rainbird played and I think pretty much the entire bowling lineup was over 30.

Good to see Matthew Elliott's son with 3 first innings wickets on debut.

Have they spiced up the MCG pitch? It's normally a road.

There's some thick grass on the wicket - significant movement off the deck. It's been fun to watch this Tassie attack go to work on it!

Vics have had to sub two players out due to Covid and NSW have now just squeezed past Victoria's 1st inning total of 209.
Handscomb had to take the gloves replacing Harper and Matt short was subbed in
Holland also out and replaced by Kellapotha
