For sure - they have a glut of talent.

Australia has named an A squad to head to New Zealand in August for two 4-day games that'll be played with a Dukes ball:

Australia A squad: Wes Agar, Xavier Bartlett, Aaron Hardie, Peter Handscomb, Spencer Johnson, Campbell Kellaway, Nathan McSweeney, Joel Paris, Mitch Perry, Jimmy Pierson, Matthew Renshaw, Mitchell Swepson, Tim Ward, Teague Wyllie.

Marcus Harris (Gloucestershire), Michael Neser (Glamorgan), Sean Abbott (Surrey), Sam Whiteman (Northamptonshire), Nathan McAndrew (Sussex) and Peter Siddle (Somerset) weren't considered as they'll be playing County Cricket.

It's a real mix of experience and some young kids that have burst onto the scene. Interesting to not see Lance Morris or Steketee in there.

Good first day for the Vics. Need to make up a small margin on Queensland to play WA in the final.

SA v NSW inconsequential but it would be nice to see NSW go winless for the season.

Tassie has moved to 6/352 and are looking imposing against Queensland, I reckon the Vics are in pole position for the second spot in the final now.

Though Will Sutherland was hugely impressive yesterday. I know there's been some chat about him on the forum, but I think he definitely has the potential to play Test cricket for Australia as a bowler that can contribute handy runs at 8. Think there's a bit of Stuart Broad in the way he goes about it.

Neser hurting himself during the warm up and Steketee only managing 10 overs before leaving the field, along with WA resting a couple of players since this game is a dead rubber to them has meant everything has gone Victoria's way so far.

Qld need 6 runs to pick up a point to go ahead of the Vic's.

If that happens, the Vic's will need to win outright.

Qld all out for 300, meaning Vic's are just about certainties to make the final now.

Qld would have to win outright, starting 179 runs behind on 1st innings.

                      QLD 40.69
                      Vic 40.71

Vics get the win and a confirmed spot in the final at the WACA on 23-27 March where they will look to reverse last seasons result.

Good effort with a young side.

I assume Handscomb will return in place of Chandrasinghe or Dean who are both struggling for runs. A shame Maddison is out with an ACL. Bowling lineup looks settled however.

Actually I forgot about Todd Murphy, guess he will replace Holland.

WA will get Morris, Paris and Kelly back into their fast bowling attack.

WA won the toss and will bowl.

Handscomb and Murphy into the XI for Dean and Holland.

Paris, Kelly and Morris back for WA.

Morris and Hardie have struck to put WA ahead in the content - Victoria are 2/55.

Getting a bit of all sorts from Morris. In the space of three balls he had Harris caught off a no ball at slip, Harris slashed him off the back foot for four and then he beat Harris all ends up for pace to wrap his back pad and have him plumb LBW.

The Vics are short on batting, so will need Handscomb and Short to stand up in the middle order. Chandrasinghe looks like he's settled in to occupy the crease. He's been short on runs recently, so good to see him standing up. Opener is his spot - should never have been shifted.
