I guess because he thought the ball was in?
And that frame suggests it was in haha.
Its like the new offside interpretation, keep playing on really close calls and then use VAR after the fact.

That's correct. That frame is from the BeIN analysis showing it was in (apparently the thin blue line is the edge of the line), however I'm not too sure how they got that.

Where was the linesman positioned when this happened? Answer that and you can probably answer your own question

Just watched the game on the full replay and I'm now 100% sure. I can't remember how to post a picture on here which is ironic as I once wrote a guide showing how to do it for woof but yes linesman was on TV side of ground.
