I don't seem to be able to explain myself properly. All I am saying is there is no way the linesman should have called this play on. when you look at the footage:

How would the linesman see millimetres from where he way standing? Anyway, he ended up vindicated.

Newcastle won and we move on. It is a long season and anything can happen.

I guess because he thought the ball was in?

And that frame suggests it was in haha.

Its like the new offside interpretation, keep playing on really close calls and then use VAR after the fact.

That's correct. That frame is from the BeIN analysis showing it was in (apparently the thin blue line is the edge of the line), however I'm not too sure how they got that.

He could have been but that would be me saying I knew where he was. I know he wasn't within a few metres of the line, however.

So yes, I can say I know where he wasn't, I just don't know where he was.

Yes I do mean that. There are only 2 linesman in every match and only 1 on each "half" of the pitch.

The linesman is literally no where in the very ample screen that is shown on the videos which would indicate he is on the TV side of the pitch.

Just watched the game on the full replay and I'm now 100% sure. I can't remember how to post a picture on here which is ironic as I once wrote a guide showing how to do it for woof but yes linesman was on TV side of ground.
