Disgraceful performance. Go one up, but already shown to be exposed out the back you might think you'd change your set up to avoid the counter. But nup, just let a tired and slow defence get ripped apart by it.

Jesus Christ, I don't know enough about football tactics so perhaps I'm off the mark, but that seemed obvious to me.
    TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

So pathetic and reactive behind the ball.
I've seen some Newcastle moments in my time; Chris Wood getting a hat trick at St James' might be my favourite.
Howe has his first real challenge at Newcastle.

We play Sunderland at the stadium of shite soon in the FA cup. Lose that and he might get invited to the Saudi embassy and never leave.

The full backs were so dumb playing Wood on. Our centre backs hold a high line and press so they're exposed it the full backs don't do the same.
Wood should've been trapped offside for two of those goals however we were lazy.

They look knackered. Howe really stuffed up by not rotating the squad more when injured. He didn't trust some of the real depth guys.

          Rasmus!

Great win from us 3-2 over Aston Villa coming from 2-0 down. Didn’t think that would happen considering we have tended to down tools when we go 1-0 down.

If anyone is up with nothing to do, Wolves v Brentford is an absolute defence free goal fest. Wolves 3-1 up after 29 minutes, game including 3 goals in 3 and a half minutes at one point. Mental.

Nice to get a win. Our youngest 11 ever in the epl and 8th youngest from all teams, just got to get games into the kids.

A 4-1 win, not without mistakes or luck, but I'll take clinical for a change, after watching a team that couldn't do anything meaningful in the box for 2 years.
Nathan Collins had one of the worst games against his old side anyone has ever had. Gave up 2 goals from awful passes.

Chris Wood tricked his old teammates by scoring goals with his feet. Suckers.
Interesting to see how the Newcastle ownership respond in the window and how much leash they give Howe.

Re: English Premier League 2023/2024 Season Thread

What a season. The surprises continue with Arsenal going down 2-0 to West Ham.
Liverpool find themselves top at the half way mark. Hasn't all been smooth sailing though.
Will be interesting how clubs cope with losing players for the African and Asia cups.
We will have to find a way of covering for Salah and to a lesser extent Endo.
Will also come down to losing key players with injury.
Allison is the one player we could least afford to lose.

What player at your team would be the one you could afford to lose to injury?

Bloody Moyes always hanging around causing trouble! West Ham go ok, Paqueta can play,Ward-Prowse in very under rated and Bowen is a dangerous opportunistic forward.

Brighton v Spurs. 4-2 that's such an Ange scoreline.

Newcastle player we could least afford to lose? Despite his recent tired displays it would be Trippier.

Most of our attacks go down his right hand side, he takes all the free kicks / corners and is an insanely brilliant leader.

All of that on the back of being smashed 3-0 by West Ham. Up to 28 points now. Wasn?t sure we?d get that in the season. What a huge week for the club.

December was a pretty tough month for Arsenal, even Chelsea picked more points than them.
