I agree that we cant drop Marsh.

I think we will be going into this game with a focus on getting a draw more than a win.
To me Carey at 7, Neser at 8 followed by Starc, Cummins and Hazlewood looks a strong enough tail.
Green's fielding must be a consideration as well, he has taken some rippers in gully.

Not sure how you play to draw against Bazball.

We simply need to get enough runs so that they implode chasing them.

How did the on-field umpire not give that out?

Shame, Smith was looking in ominous form. This is a 400+ pitch, anything less is a fail.

Thought the Hawkeye for Marnus was a little generous in terms of the turn........lets face it Moeen is a spinner in name only.

Hoping that the Warne Factor on the camera is set at the same level when we bowl.

Probably the most frustrating day of the tour for me. Good pitch, flat deck, your batsman all get starts, you've got genuine batting to 8 and we had the best of the overhead conditions - that day should've ended closer to four wickets down, not nine.

Think the batting coach will have had some stern conversations.

I do like to sleep. 8/299. I read that rain's forecast every day with the adjective heavy on day 4. A draw coming up.

That not one of them could get past 75 or 100 was really ordinary. Marnus going out the way he did followed by Head going out the way he did got me super frustrating. I didn't see the remaining dismissals, not sure I want to!
                          TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

That's how I see it. England bowled well but so many of our batsman got starts and didn't apply themselves to go on with it.
Had we finished the day at 5 for 275 I'd have been far happier.

Agree, super frustrating day. 400 or more makes it difficult to lose. A likely low 300s total leaves them in the game and the ashes.

Hard to be overly critical of Warner as above when almost every batsman did the same as he did - got themselves in and then threw their wicket away with a poor shot.

Since the pitch was swung around to face a different from 2011, the average first innings totals have been 382. That is the sort of number we should be close to. As it is we will be lucky to be 320
