If only breakdancing was in the Olympics in 1984 - a lot of us wogs living around Reservoir/Thomastown/Lalor/Fawkner at the time would not only have made the Olympic team, we would have given the gold medal a serious nudge.

Cam Myers. This 17 year old kid is already a star. Incredible rise in a sport where it normally takes years and years to breakthrough and get to the top. He is already doing special stuff. He will still have his work cut out to make the 1500m Olympic team as we have so much depth at the moment. Myers, McSweyn and Spencer already have the qualifying time, but we still have talent like the Commonwealth Games Gold Medalist Ollie Hoare (also the national record holder over 1500m) who should easily get the qualifer plus a number of others.

      Remember the name!

Was just reading that we have unprecedented depth across the 800 and 1500 in both men's and women's. Especially in the women's 800. It's great for middle distance running in this country and hopefully we will see finalists across those events in Paris.

Any idea how friendly the viewing times are going to be live in Australia?

The 1984 National Breakdancing Competition on Countdown was heavily represented by the northern suburbs of Melbourne

Yes. On the Women's side we have some established stars in Linden Hall, Catriona Bisset and Jessica Jull. We then have some rising stars like Claudia Hollingsworth and Abbey Caldwell (both Melbourne girls).

Mens 1500m Australian National Chamionship is on in the next few minutes on 7Plus.

Australian's best fighting it out to impress for an Olympic spot.

How fast is Torrie Lewis right now?

Australian teen sensation beats world’s fastest woman in Diamond League triumph

Australia’s fastest woman, Torrie Lewis, has made another stunning sprint breakthrough in the run-up to the Olympics by beating the world 100-metre champ and powering to a stunning triumph in the 200 metres at the season’s opening Diamond League meeting in China.

On a night in Xiamen when Armand Duplantis was setting another world pole vault record of 6.24 metres, Australia’s own soaring star led the undercard with her brilliant half-lap victory over two American stars.
                TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

                  Impressive performance.

Also great to see a number of the 1500m girls get the Olympic Qualifer (which are set at an incredibly high level now). We have amazing depth in both the Mens and Womans 1500m.

Disappointing. I thought this thread was going to be full of indignant denunciations of WADA on behalf of the women?s 4 z 880 Tokyo.

Hopefully she does it at the Olympics - exciting

                            I love the Olympics.

Planning on doing a daily recap like I did for Tokyo which I will share here.

Track and Field, as you’ve mentioned we have a lot of talent coming through and I think are slowly building up a talent pool that will have a strong presence.

Swimming. Traditional pursuit here, grew up idolising our swimmers and feel it’s a shame how low down the food chain they’ve fallen in our landscape. Been on an upswing recently though. Tokyo was good for swimming.

Rowing and Canoe Slalom in the paddling events.

Boxing. Always a bit of scoring drama, but an entertaining tournament.

Volleyball. The real volleyball, not beach volleyball. Underrated game. I watch a lot of it on ESPN and the streams of international volleyball as well as our own Melbourne Vipers.

Climbing. Great addition to the Games.

BMX Racing. Follow it closely via UCI YouTube. Sakakibara a star.

Water polo, I usually watch all our games and get into it once every four years. Good game.
