    Re: MLB (Baseball)

A disaster for the Nats. Blowing a 6 nil lead and left the door open to often.
Once again cream rises to the top with CC dominant.
Yankees Cards W/S, I'm not watching !Orioles had a great season.

My interest level in the LCS's just dropped a 1000 fold with those match-ups.

Yet again teams that were borderline average in the season get through to the championship games.
Apparently in Atlanta they were chanting "infield fly" while celebrating.
Didn't go down well in Atlanta

What a bottom of the ninth by The Yankees. With 2 outs, Ibanez's HR hit to pick up 2 RBIs to level it just amazing. Now to extra time.

Incredible for the Yankees to even be in with a chance the way they played the first 8 innings ... Should have been an easy 3 up, 3 down for the Tigers ... But Rau oooooool !! Geez he's having a great post season !!

WOW what a game that was. We got out of jail big time there.

We had a lot of luck today with the Yankees having the bases loaded 3 times & walking away with nothing. Fister did a terrific job to get hit on the wrist with line drive from Cano & keep going. Delmon Young certainly has terrible at bats but walked away with 3 RBIs today, some huge hits.
Mr Peralta who can't spell his first name right made some huge defensive plays with bases loaded & had some timely hits. Peralta has been terrible with the bat this year.
Was happy to see Lowe come in as he was with the Indians this year & we have had some success against him.

As soon as Benoit came in i was nervous. He didn't give up any runs but he they certainly hit the ball hard off him so we got out of jail there. They didn't let Papa Grande off the hook though. Not sure we can go much further if our guys who pitch the 8th & 9th are not doing there job. How can Leyland go back to Valverde again with an confidence at all? Hopefully Dotel gets the job cause we can't rely on our starters pitching complete games.

Derek Jeter has a broken ankle so he is out for the season. Big break for the tigers as he was 1 of a very few who could hit consistently for them.

Feel a bit for A-Rod as I think he has been hard done by. The fans are blaming him when in reality other Jeter, Suzuki & Ibanez nobody can get it done at the plate. Granderson, Tex, Swisher & Cano have been just as bad as A-Rod at the plate this post season but every keeps pointing the finger at one guy.

From a selfish point of view I hope they continue to struggle for the remainder of the series.

                          Re: MLB (Baseball)

Tigers up 2-0 & heading back to Detroit with Verlander on the mound. Feeling pretty good about things at the minute but still 2 games to win so can't get ahead of myself.

We got a very lucky break today with the 2nd base umpire missing what seemed to be an easy call. Infante over ran 2nd base & when the throw came in from Swisher, Cano had Infante cold. Not sure how he missed that call but we'll take it. It cost the Yankees 2 runs but in the end they couldn't even manage 1 run themselves. Cano now holds the record of the biggest slump in post season history, I think he is 0 from 28 at bats.

How about those Cardinals? This team just doesn't know how to give up. The last 2 times they won the World Series they were the wild card & this year again they are the wild card. I'd like to meet them in the WS as we owe them for 2006.

                          Go Tigers!!!

Giants take the Cardinals 7 1.
Just saw a cheap shot on Scutero, think it was Matt Holliday.
Trying to break up a double play Holliday took him out way off the bag.
                            Cheap Shot
The way that Yankee offense is travelling might be a short game tomorrow.

                              Tigers take game 3 !
Yankee offense totally cold. Great this series for the purists ( and those taping games)
Verlander didn't have his best stuff but got the job done.
Might be some retribution for Matt Holliday of the cards with his cheap shot trying to break up a double play in game 2.
Scherzer( spelling?) and CC tomorrow, can't see the bats breaking out in that duel.

                                Re: MLB (Baseball)

Tigers again just got over the line. Spot Remi, JV didn't have his best stuff but he did enough to get the win which is all that matters. Delmon Young just keeps delivering in the post season. He now holds the record for most post season home runs by a tiger & probably won't be wearing the old english D next year.

Mad Max on the mound tomorrow who has been the tigers best pitcher this year so I'm hopeful even with CC on the hill for NY that we can end this tomorrow. If not then we have to get it done in game 5 as i don't want to go back to the Bronx to advance.

Don't know about the retribution though Remi as you see that a lot. I really don't like it but it seems to be accepted over there as part of the runners role to take out the SS. I would love to see the SS or 2nd baseman just jump in the air & deliberately put his cleats into the runner. I'd like to see it taken out of the game as well as smashing the catcher at home plate.

                                Go Tigers.
