    Re: MLB (Baseball)

Well game 2 was a classic pitcher dominated small ball game.
Detroit bullpen was a touch wild which was costly
Once again Lady Luck went the giants way with a sac bunt crawling down to third and being left alone ( thinking it would go foul, it didn't)
    Great game for the purists

Game 3 about to start. Very nervous obviously as this is a must win game for my tigers as we find ourselves in 0-2 hole.

      Go Tigers

Haven't watched it yet( tape set)
Tiger offense only shut out twice during the regular season( 162 games)
Shut out twice in two games!! Amazing!!
Pretty sure Oakland shut them out as well.
Giants pitching has been incredible, got a feeling The tiger bats have to break out eventually.

          Re: MLB (Baseball)

Very disappointed at the moment. We had opportunities today to put up some runs but again couldn't get a hit when it really mattered.
1st inning had 2 on with 1 out & $214 million dollar man GIDP
3rd inning had 2 on with 1 out & Berry GIDP
5th inning basses loaded with 1 out & we walk away with nothing

Giants score on their first opportunity. I feel for our pitchers who have pitched very well the last 2 games & have nothing to show for it.

The 5 days off has proven to be a disaster. But these so called professionals have stop feeling sort for themselves & make their own luck. The first 2 games sure Zito & Bumgardner pitched well but we made them look like Cy Young out there the way we were swinging the bats.

          Series over now.

Yeah shut out by another left handed starting pitcher.

The tiger hitters can break out as much as they like now as it does not matter anymore. No team in history has ever come back from 0-3 in the WS.

Sorry anfo27, I think I've unbalanced the bandwagon.

Haven't watched game 4 yet, but they showed an interesting stàt.
Teams who have swept the championship series and been swept in the W/S.
I'd say major league players are so in tune with playing every day that a significant break can be fatal.

You really need to be alert to all the signs being sent in a game.

I had Wednesday and Thursday off so managed to watch all 8 Wild Card games. That pick off play by Sonny Gray and Carlos Correa was brilliant, and to hear how it was set up shows how smart a player Correa is. Furure manager material.

Also great to see Adelaide born Curtis Mead playing for Tampa - the 1st Australian position player to play in the post-season. Mead drove in Tampa's only run in the series with Texas only allowing 1 run in eliminating the Rays by scores of 4-0 and 7-1.

Nice pick up G! Really interesting to hear this broken down. Just love the tactical elements of baseball particularly in the post season.

I really enjoy the quality of baseball commentary and all those subtle variations that teams use to gain an edge.
I watched that twice and it appealed to me so I hoped others might enjoy it.

Tavares has just gone up and over the wall to take a home run away from Alvarez...
