Re: Australia vs Pakistan
Just shows what a little better pitch and valueing your wicket can achieve.
Must say the commentators are giving me the irritables, "a couple of wickets will fall soon" etc
How about some credit for the batsman getting through a rough patch and fighting it out?
Very bias in my opinion.
It would have been nice to see a few of ours do the same.Comment

And they just missed an LBW(off Hauritz bowling) if they had have referred it. Nothing is going our way.The curse is dead.Comment

The ABC do cricket a heck of a lot better anyway -- there's more to talking about cricket then just being a former player; after all, most of the best cricket writers weren't always the best players, and most players' books consist of one-line beer jokes or are near unreadable, or both!Comment

Re: Australia vs Pakistan
Everyone of the 9 batsman dismissed so far for Pakistan has made double figures and with a lead of 200 plus and 3 days to go we will need to bat very well tomorrow.
Watson chimed in with a couple of wickets and kept things tight. He's probably being bowled more than he should be though.Western Bulldogs Football Club "Where it's cool to drool"Comment

Re: Australia vs Pakistan
i think the selectors really don't place much value in solid batsmen who accumulate an innings by digging in and the like. It seems players like Rogers and Klinger dominance at state level is ignored because they don't have the game to succeed at the highest level.
Whenever our batsmen face difficult conditions like a pitch with a bit of green or quality bowling, our players try to hit their way out of trouble.Comment

Re: Australia vs Pakistan
Even though its a green top, the pitch will still die off and dry out, crumble effects take place with bowlers foot marks, then you have the cracks that will appear, the bowlers should have a field day on day 5 if they get it right.Comment

Re: Australia vs Pakistan
sorry but that can't be true. If the pitch green therefore alive then it won't die - crumble in 5 days unless there are temperature of 40+ for the 5 days. There is no doubt the pitch is improving daily so far for batting. It might be bad on day 5 but no where near the condition on day 1.Comment

Re: Australia vs Pakistan
It a good theory when every test is played flat and non resonsive pitches. It wasn't the case here so it does matter.

That said, right now, is the best time to at, day 2 & 3 also good to bat on, i'm tipping it won;t be so easy comeday 5, just as it was hard to bat on day 1, and i reckon that was Pontings main concern.Comment
