So now Ghana, Serbia & Germany all have 3 points.

Australia really has to go all out for the win against Ghana to lock things up (although our inferior goal difference hurts) & have all teams on 3 points.

A loss to Ghana & we're virtually gone (would need to score a heap against Serbia & hope Ghana score a heap against Germany).

If we drew with Ghana we would then need to beat Serbia to go to 4 points & need Gahna to beat Germany (keeping them & Serbia on 3 points).

So how does that leave Group C?

SLV - 4PT - +1
USA - 2PT - 0
ENG - 2PT - 0
ALG - 1PT - -1

All 4 teams can qualify.

The final 2 games are USA v Algeria & England v Slovenia.

What is important is that the USA have scored 3 goals & England have only scored 1 goal. That could be crucial if they both win or both draw their final game as it may have a bearing on who finishes on top, or who doesn't qualify.

Slovenia only needs a draw against England to qualify.

England & the USA will qualify if they win their respective matches.

If Algeria win against the USA they will have 4 points, but wouldn't be assured of qualifying unless Slovenia beats England. If England win, then Slovenia & Algeria would both have 4 points & would need to be separated by a) goal difference, b) goals scored & c) head to head. If it comes down to option c then Slovenia will qualify.

On the England Vs Algeria match, it is amazing how bad England are playing. Their fans booed them at half time and at the end of the game. Poor old Rooney is copping the brunt of it as well. He is not exactly getting a reputation as a big game player. He will cop a bucketing from the unforgiving fans and press if they don't progess further.

I too thought the USA were unlucky to have a winner in the 85th minute disallowed for a foul that only one person in the world saw. After countless replays I could only see a foul in favour of the Seppo's to be honest.

The US were robbed!!! First Robbie Findley gets a yellow card for a phantom handball and is now suspended for the final game against Algeria, and then there is the phantom foul against the coaches' son Michael Bradley that ruled out the game winner. Not to mention the treatment of Jozy Altidore. Great comeback by Team USA none the less, and a win over the Algerians (easier said than done - they were impressive this morning) will see them through to the 2nd phase.
