A fair collapse by the Indian lower order have left Australia in with a chance here, try and post a lead of 200 and knock em over on a dieing pitch, easier said then done.
Should be in the side instead of Hussey or North.

Yerp agree, hes our next long term no 3 in my opinion. Jeez we have some talent coming through, our real next dominant team will look something like
      1. Hughes
      2. Maddison (absolute gun, keep an eye on this kid)
      3. Khawjha
      4. Clarke
      5. Watson
      6. M.Marsh
      7. T Paine
      8. Smith (I expect him to bat in the top 6, not sure about his bowling yet)
      9. Pattison
      10. Hazelwood
      11. Starc

Then through in guys like Finch, McDermott, Wade, O'Keefe and Henriques coming through, the potential is enormous.

I don't see these two in our long term plans.

Clarke has been our best bat over the last few years, averaged 60 and was great in the Ashes. Will be our next captain and if you dont think he deserves his spot you should have a closer look. I couldnt give a stuff about the metro appearance or public persona and certainly not to the extent as to bar him from the side.

Hughes needs to tighten the technique but he has performed well over a sustained period and Im going to take the runs on face value. Theres not much more he could possibly have done and Im going to back him in untill his performances say different.

My opinion on Clarke has nothing to do with the way he looks. I just think he's a good batsman(and Watson is easily our best bat nowadays), not a great one and will not make a great leader of men. He's 29 and has a dodgy back so he hasn't got that much time left IMO.

Hughes has been worked out IMO and I'm not sure he can change his technique and temperament to counter this. I guess only time will tell, hopefully he won't go down as a one series wonder.

For a guy that is known for having quick feet, Clarke just hasn't looked comfortable against the spinners.

I guess we all knew that North couldn't back up a century in the first innings with say a 40 or 50 today

Was made to look like a tailender, the coverage called it unplayable but I wouldnt say it was much different to anything else he was spitting out. North is a spud

Hughes is a shield standard hack but they will play him and keep playing him until eventually he makes a score and then they will say, "told you so".

His record says otherwise, Im prepared for the selectors to give him the decent run he deserves.

                          Re: Australia vs India

No wonder most talented youngsters, who have the potential to play either AFL or cricket at the highest level, choose AFL.

                          - 12 spots at the elite level
                          - boys club where if they don't like you, you wont play, no matter how good you are (see Hodge)
                          - if the selectors/captain love you, doesn't matter how average a time you're having, you've got a year or so to work it out, keeping out those deserving of a chance.

Great bat but if he could captain he wouldnt be in these messes in first place.

What a fantastic player Tendulkar has been, is this the last time we will play against him at Test level?
