He looks to be getting back to his rhythm here, he hasnt got the ball to come back in and he has bowled the occasional wide one but his lines in particular have been much better.

His bowling and his batting have been down and now after a good knock he is bowling a lot better.

      Yep, another bad miss.

Nice to get a bit of lead, India still in the box seat though. They're batting line up is nothing short of sensational and we have been prone to a collapse. I hate to say it but I can see Harby tearing through us tomorrow and a comfortable Indian win.

That's the big fear. We need the openers to do the job again as the middle order is questionable.

Is there a touch of the Dogs' match committee about the Australian selectors? They will persist with the same old names beyond all reason based on a few isolated good knocks, and almost look for reasons to not make changes ie. North's recent 100 against nuffies. Blind Freddy can tell you that both Marcus and M.Huss are no longer Test level batsmen by any stretch of the imagination but the selectors refuse to make a change. I don't see how throwing a few of the better performed domestic players in there just to see how they go could be any worse than how those two are going now, and if if the selectors are hanging their hat on some rainbow reason like 'dressing room harmony' they should be shot. This jobs-for-Ponting's-mates rort has gone on long enough and if he can't toe the line of performance-based selection, then he should not be captain. It's not like we're going to lose very much anyway.

This is a team that is harder to get into than to drop out of, which is nonsensical considering how crap it has been over the last 24 months.

I remember the days when a Test series featuring Australia was a can't miss event. It actually wasn't even that long ago.

              Geez, it's fallen away quickly.

Well its 4 for 141 now with Hussey and North there. If they don't make runs, we will lose this test.

Watson and Kwajha with Hughes coming in would be my preference, if we want to keep this opening pair going then White or perhaps Smith when Haddin returns

Paine gone. We needed a 20 or 30 from him.

Johnson and Hauritz need to build a partnership.

What about Shaun Marsh at 5? Versatile batsman.

Hasnt shown enough at the first class level, he would be fine coming in with a solid base but I dont think he has the technique or temperament to dig the team out of trouble if needed. Khawja is the long term number 3, the sooner he gets in the team the better.

The collapse continues, we cant really expect the lower order to continually dig us out of trouble.
