Can he bowl 10 overs? Great bowler but much like Tait I wonder if he is more focused on the money that T20 cricket offers.

He could bat at 7 at a pinch but he would be a solid hard hitting number 8.
There might be times where we need to play 5 bowlers plus Watson so Hastings adds a bit of depth with the batting.

What are people's thoughts on Peter Siddle, is he purely a test bowler?

Whats his record like as a batsman in ODI's?

Been a few decent knocks but obviously limited chances. Johnson, Hauritz and Lee also add a bit of batting depth.

I feel bad as I want Australia to fail so the selectors are closer to getting the sack. The players in the current odi squad and not picked for the wc have every right to feel upset.

You're right, not on those wickets and none of them can really shape it either. The paucity of blue chip slow bowlers in thic country makes me wonder where the wickets will come from.
But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

If you ask Hildick, he'd say they were an excellent 4 wickets.

.. so he's heard, or read in the paper, or was told by Ricky. And regardless of the result come the World Cup, he's already done a great job, because if the team fails, it's the players' fault.

Personally I'm quite happy with the selections of Haurtiz and Smith ahead of Doherty.
Have you heard Butters wants to come to the Dogs?

The batting is too weak for mine, I have no faith in either Smith nor D Hussey as top order players but I think Hussey is capable of playing that Yardy type holding role, I'd be leaving out Smith in favour of M Hussey/Ferguson and dropping D Hussey to 7

Surely Marsh must come in. Haddin must be dropped, can't keep and batting is inconsistent. As for Clarke, needs to find form or also be dropped.
