Great win by Pakistan (although just), but the main question now is, will India rest some stars and throw the game against the Windies so they dont have to play Aust in the knockout qtr finals? Rumor is Hsingh and Sehwag will be rested.

Poor batting by the Aussies. Cam White has had a shocking series and Ponting just hasn't done enough. Will the selectors drop White and play David Hussey?

White was terrible in Australia and Ponting hasn't made a run in 12 months, yet the selectors think they can just 'turn it on' in a WC?

At least Ponting has his leadership capabilities to fall back on

Agree.

White is too hit and miss, and given our batting has generally been pretty poor especially in the middle order it seems a logical move. Probably means it's unlikely to occur though

Anyone hear Ponting's post-match presser?

Unlikely that David Hussey will get a look in because 'White got run out so can't blame his batting'. Of course, his recent form means nothing.

When asked if he's worried about potentially facing India, he was smug enough to say 'we've lost 1 out of the last 34, I think we're going alright'. Again, I'll ask what do WC wins from 8 years ago have to do with our current form?

We looked unconvincing against the minnows and lost our first game against a genuine international quality team.

I can't see us getting anywhere near India.

And yeah comrade caught a snippet of Ricky's presser... he has quickly gone from one of my favourite players of all time to a player who I can't stand.. he is just an arrogant flog. BTW our streak actually goes back 12 years, we were last beaten by Pakistan back in 1999.

Yup, he's screwed up his legacy over the past 2-3 years. I'm struggling to remember the guy who seemed untouchable from 2003 to 2007.

Heard this morning on radio that there is strong feelings in the CA board that Ricky should not be on our next tour following the WC - I'm sure many who have posted in this thread recently are off celebrating as I type.

Really hoping that we can somehow get over India, because if we do I think we can beat the other sides bar SA if we play alright. Hopefully the pressure of playing at home and the high expectations can play in the minds of the Indian players.
