We have added a batsman for a bowler... Nannes is only over there on stand-by.

I for one are happy for Hussey to be back in the squad and the sooner he's back in the side the better. Before this injury he was in awesome touch.
If he was replacing Ferguson then that would be OK but if he ultimately replaces Bollinger then I believe the squad has one too many batsman.

It won't be hard to bring him into the side if needed(stand-by is pretty much in the squad to me). I guess i would rather have M.Hussey come back into the side rather than Ferguson if an injury occurs to one of the top 7.

I agree we have got one to many batmen in the squad now, but it's not going to effect the balance of the playing side. Being on stand-by(Nannes) is in the squad to me.

that's what I think, basically we've manipulated the system, so if another player gets hurt we have an extra bowler ready to go, but we can also pick M. Hussey next match if we choose.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Hussey come in next week, his ODI form over the past 5 years has been incredible, and in a relatively inexperienced team he is an older head.

Then why are you happy to see Hussey included at bowlers expense?

Hussey has been called up to replace Bollinger and Nannes has been sent over in case one of the other bowlers breaks down. We have added a batsman and lost a bowler.

He's not, Nannes has also been added to the squad. If he's there as a back-up, he's ready to go if he is needed. To me that's in the squad.

Technically Hussey has been called up to replace Bollinger, but we all know that's not really the case.

This is not going to effect the performance of our team.

I don't get your logic here. Nannes can't play unless some else is taken out of the squad. Hussey on the other hand can now be played in any game.

But he will only be needed if one of the bowlers gets injured and then they will have to come out of the squad. We don't need him unless someone gets hurt.

So I will go back to my initial comment that we took out a bowler and added a batsman which makes the side imbalanced. Nannes being on standby has nothing to do with it.

                          How?

This affects the squad not the side. Hastings is still there as a back up bowler, Nannes is there in case of an emergency.

It's not like M.Hussey is going to take the spot of a bowler in the side. His brother and Smith should be the one's under pressure to keep him out.

The side is the squad. You're obviously talking about the 11 or the team selections.

After D.Hussey almost begging the selectors to pick his brother, how ironic it would be if MHussey took his place in the side

Im happy with the selection, even when Husseys formed dropped in tests he was still our best performed one day batsmen, hes rated number 4 in the world for a reason. I dont agree with the calls for D Hussey or Smith to be first out, Whites head is clearly on the chopping block for mine, his run of form is Clarke-esque but nobody mutters a word, hes a pure batsmen now and his runs arent stacking up. Nannes can be put in immediately in case of another injury so its a non issue for me.
