Re: 2014 FIFA World Cup Draw
It certainly will be a challenge if we do finish 3rd and play the 5th placed South American team. Uruguay in that 2005 qualifier still could of won when it came down to penalties but thankfully we qualified to our second world cup in our history winning the shoot out."Footscray people are incredible people; so humble. We wouldn't get close to any South American at the momentComment

Re: 2014 FIFA World Cup Draw
We would most likely lose 2-0, 3-0 something like that from what we have done in our world cup qualifying so far. Our current FIFA world ranking is 25 in the world comparing that to Uruguay and Chile who are currently ranked 5 and 14 respectively who are the two teams hovering around 5th place in South America. Hopefully we won't have to worry about that and we qualify automatically finishing in the top 2."Footscray people are incredible people; so humble. I'm just so happy - ecstatic"Comment

Re: 2014 FIFA World Cup Draw
Important match for Australia against Iraq tomorrow morning. If we lose tomorrow morning its going to make it very difficult for us and will be hanging in the 2014 World Cup qualifying by a thread. We currently sit 3rd out of 5 teams in Group B of the AFC qualifying 4th round. If we end up finishing 3rd I think will be playing a South American team which will be a very difficult task.Last edited by Eastdog; 16-10-2012, 05:54 PM."Footscray people are incredible people; so humble. Iraq 0-0 Australia at Half Time. If it ended in a draw it wouldn't be the worst result but it would be much better for our chances if we win."Footscray people are incredible people; so humble. I'm just so happy - ecstatic"Comment

Full time: Iraq 1-2 Australia. Our goals were scored by Cahill and Thompson. Iraq's was scored by Alaa. Very important win for us coming from behind and the pressure is eased a little and we are in a slightly better position now."Footscray people are incredible people; so humble. Re: 2014 FIFA World Cup Draw
Should qualify in second spot easily now with 3 home games left.
Win may have glossed over the number of ageing players. The Iraqi goal
exposed how slow Lucas Neill is. I don't understand how he still gets a regular appearance let alone be captain of the side.
Archie has proved a few people wrong.Comment
