I just dont know why we wouldnt go hard after a player like Gary Cahill. Still after the goalkeeper's spot being such a problem for us over the last few years it's good to see Szczesny making the job his own over the last year.
Just because a guy was a defender doesn't mean he's going to be good at coaching a team to defend. Mickey Mouse could have coached a backline made up of Adams, Keown, Seaman, Dixon and Winterburn with a marauding Vieira sitting in front of them and looked like a genius.

Gibbs and Santos are not the answers to Arsenal's defensive woes, and Mertesacker, a VERY good defender, looking lost in the Arsenal backline adds fuel to my argument that Arsene needs some help organising that area. Szczesny is getting better, but the last thing a disorganised defence needs is an inexperienced keeper making his way in the world. I still don't know why Arsene didn't get Schwarzer -- would probably have won a couple of trophies already with an experienced keeper.

      Terry Henry is a cheat.
I know Fergie likes a moan, but Wenger takes it to a new level.
Apparently the refs crucify his team not sometimes but all times!
      He was deadly serious

I'll forever scratch my head over that one. I know that the Fulham manager-was it Mark Hughes?-didnt want to let Schwarzer go but from memory the difference in the two teams estimation of his worth was pretty minimal. I appreciate that Wenger doesnt like to spend any more than what his estimation of a player's worth is in a transfer but I cant help thinking that the Schwartzer episode was a balls up from Arsenal's POV and it cost us pretty dearly in the short term.

As you say we may well have won a couple of trophys over the last couple of years with a decent 'keeper. We may not have fallen into the screaming heap we did last season with a wise head between the sticks. Afterall we signed Lehmann to a short term contract at the end of last season so it was apparent from early on that the goalkeeper's spot was problematic for us.

He made a poor error of judgment that he owned up to straight away and pleaded with the French football authority and FIFA to replay the tie. FIFA said no.

There's a huge difference in the advantages that Man U enjoys from referees compared to any other team anywhere else on the planet. That drunken old soak has a bloody cheek to even mention refereeing decisions.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Very happy to get him. Already shown he can play well with JT at CB, so hopefully this will help our brittle defence.

Wenger moans when his players get even remotely challenged.
Everytime they play the likes of Blackburn, Stoke.

Personally rather be the drunken Sook than the chants your manager receives.

If Henry is a cheat, what's Maradona?

It's not like he could say he didn't mean it.

I can remember Kiko Macheda doing something similar against CFC.

Every club has had a player who has cheated at one stage.

After the Shawcross/Ramsey incident you'd forgive him for being wary of Stoke City.

Agree with you there. They lost a player to a broken leg against Birmingham a few years ago,but he complains when teams get physical against Arsenal.

Super Frank became only the third player to score in 100 games for the one PL club last last.

Not bad for a mid fielder.

Those numbers would be inflated due to the fact that he has been Chelsea's penalty taker for the best part of 10 years.

                              It's still an amazing effort.

Couldn't find the current numbers but as at the end of the 2009-10 season Lampard had scored 26 penalties for Chelsea in the EPL & many more in the various Cup competitions.
