Re: 2013-14 EPL Thread.
Well the Mata on move meant that Ramires had to go to CM. Was a bit of a weird game. Jose got it badly wrong 1st half and couldn't attack our weakest link at LB and when he changed it up at HT AVB got it wrong and didn't react.Comment

Still annoyed about Torres getting sent off for something that wasn't even a foul, especially with the 2 Mancs losing. The curse is dead.Comment

Re: 2013-14 EPL Thread.
It was a pretty reckless attempt at a header and Torres went down holding his head so Im not sure I buy the whole it was faked thing. They may have clashed heads when falling.
Either way both he and Vertonghen were being stupid for all of the 2nd half and Torres should count himself very lucky that the linesman didn't see his gauging incident as that would have been a straight red.Comment

Looks like the ball should have got the card to me.
I agree Torres lost his sh*t after the first dive and could easily have been sent off for lashing out with the face scratch. Didn't look good for both players.

Moyes is in a weird position as manager with the Drunken Scotsman looking over his shoulder. Appointing Ferguson to a position on the board might have been the dumbest call United could have made. They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.Comment

If I'd believed all the rumours from the doomsayers at the start of the season I'd have expected to see Arsenal languishing, not flourishing.
Important game for Liverpool tonight at Sunderland given last nights results.85, 92, 97, 98, 08, 09, 10... Break the curse!Comment

Plus his arm was nowhere near his head. They both did hold their heads but one did for a bit longer than the other.Last edited by chef; 29-09-2013, 01:04 PM.The curse is dead.Comment

Re: 2013-14 EPL Thread.
No doubt there will be howls of dissent from some United fans, but I think it's a transition thing with Moyes. In a way some United fans now might no what it's like to follow them when not travelling well.
On a side note Jack Watts was putting in better second efforts at the pub yesterday than on the field.Comment

Re: 2013-14 EPL Thread.
As for the Torres/Vertonghen battle (because it was all day), my mate called that Torres would be sent off, he just lost his head. The slap/scratch should have been a straight red and there were a couple of other niggles etc. In the end Mike Dean (who we thought had a really poor game and didn't control the game well) had enough and sent him off for what was probably soft, but also reckless for a guy on a yellow.
In terms of Spurs, probably should have been 2-0 at half time and then after Torres got sent off had 2 good chances to win the game (Defoe and Siggurdson).
A draw was the right result with both teams winning a half of football.
Spurs still have trouble up front. Soldado whilst providing the assist to Siggurdson and the cross that Paulinho nearly put in to make it 2-0, didn't really get a great site at goal. Part of it is the lack of width Spurs are playing with (hopefully better when Lennon returns), but also Eriksen aside they lack a killer ball from midfield.Comment
